This is a poem I wrote today called "Home"
it's kinda bad but it's for my first hour this semester~
Keep in mind I can't write poetry so this is like way under the bar that Tessa set.
We start off our day
In a place I'd like to call a home away from home.
In a place that we won't be judged on what we say.
In a place that when we enter, no one would hear a groan.
We start off our day...
In a place we started off as number one.
In a place where we listened to Sarah Kay.
In a place where people's writing is never really done.
We start off our day
In a room with the number 117.
In a room that for 45 minutes we shall stay.
In a room that the first thing we do is look at the screen.
There in that room,
We etched so many memories into our brains.
Anywhere from the Walrus Lady at her creek to Bob the Monkey meeting his daily doom.
And our yearbook theme campaigns.
First hour, oh yeah, we were definitely number one.
We were the first, but not the last, to receive in the 2013-2014 year "Good morning, Scholars!"
First hour was creative, and everything was fun,
Nothing could take a way the bond we created, not even a thousand dollars.
First hour was more than just a class,
We're forged more than just new friends,
We ignored any sass,
We even ignored all the annoying twists and bends.
Grace and Kelley telling bad puns,
Group hugs that lasted maybe a second too long,
To Lizzie promising marshmallow guns.
The bond that our first hour class created is way to strong.
First hour was more than just a scholarly community,
We're a family,
Our class created a unity.
The smiles on our faces showed our love for one another, evidently.
Room 117 can never be room 103,
They both have their own little special things,
But something that both of these rooms will always be?
They will always be our home, forever and always, this is where we spread our writing wings.
~I can't write poetry I am so, so sorry~
I love my Creative Writing family. ♥
