Again this story is NOT ORIGINALLY MINE. This is from my super idol Anna Ida :)
Maghihintay Ako
At five o’clock in the morning, she arrived at the airport. This is it. She would have to face the fact that James was leaving the country for about two months for a series of trips. He was a pilot, a newbie amongst the professionals. But since he was very dedicated, he was immediately appointed to the highest position. Today, Captain James Reid will be going to New York, and the next stops will be the other parts of the world.
“He’s living his dream. I can’t go against that,” even though she was devastated, Ann was trying to cheer herself up. She was the only one who believed in James. She was the only one who believed him when he said he is going to be a pilot someday. And she was not in the right position anymore to underestimate the capabilities of James, a young achiever.
“Two months is not that long. When he comes back, I believe everything will be okay.” But then, she was in between being happy for him and being sad about their relationship. Since James has been promoted, he has been very busy. He was having no time for her anymore. And whether she liked it or not, she had to admit that their relationship was slowly dying.
Ann saw James walking from the office towards her. “I’m leaving, Ann,” he spoke with a precious smile on his face. It was going to be the first time for him to board as a Captain. And Ann never saw him that overjoyed since she said ‘yes’ to him a few years back.
“You take care there, okay?” holding her tears, she talked.
“Of course, I will. This is my dream, Ann. I’m about to fly around the world and I know this will be great!” he exclaimed.
James noticed the other staff heading to the exit. “Now I’m really leaving, Ann,” he said, really excited about his flight.
“Maghihintay Ako,” suddenly, Ann spoke in Filipino.
“What?” not fluent with the language, his brows met. But before Ann could even answer, James was already called by his assistant.
He gave her cheeks a quick kiss and hugged her trembling body for about two seconds. Then he started walking away from her, holding his bag.
“I’m going to fly, Ann. And when I come back, I would have finally found the true meaning of my life. I love you!” He waved his hands, shouting like a child as he went closer to the door.
“I,” her face turned saddened, “I love you, too, James,” as she was not even able to reply to him.

Ann went home feeling tired. The day was just starting but she felt drained already. In the next months, there will be no James Reid whom she could willingly devote all her time to. Fine, she already admitted. James was taking her for granted. But the James Reid that she answered by a ‘yes’ about five years ago in college was far from the James who left her today. That James Reid was amazing. That was the James Reid she fell in love with, and waiting to return.
She looked at the walls of her bedroom and saw a picture. It was their picture together during their first anniversary that James had framed and displayed on her room.
“That day was perfect,” she mumbled. She went closer to the picture and took it. At the back was a note James wrote.
“I wanted everyone to believe in me, and only you did.”
She was touched. For how many times has she read that one liner message from him but her heart was always caught. That was the James Reid she was missing, the James Reid who have always seen the best things about her.
