My moral code compels me to put a content warning on this chapter. I've always maintained that I would put a warning on a chapter in case the content may go a little passed my initial PG-13 rating. Depending on how you see things, this may still be PG-13. But just in case...THIS IS A WARNING. There is adult content in this chapter. If you can’t handle it, if you’re still in bad word territory of life, don’t read it. Skip it and continue on with other things. No I'm not going into explicit details but if you're still sensitive to the words naked, tongue, and cummerbund (if you don't know what that is then look it up. It's not dirty.) then you might want to skip past a certain point. Yes, I do the infamous fade to black. No, I do not intend on writing a rated R version of this scene. This is a young adult novel and if you've read any of them, they never have sex scenes. In fact, I think the two main characters never do the dirty deed until the last book. But for my story to continue, it needs to be done. You'll understand later.
Also, the title of this chapter relates to the Civil Twilight song “Letters From The Sky”. I was going to name it Chinese Finger Traps but I changed my mind. And no, I don't have a picture of her dress because I mostly came up with it in my head. Yeah, I'm that awesome. Sorry for the lack of visual. I'm sure I'll get tons of hate mail for this chapter but...yeah.
Enjoy!

By morning my bruises were minimal. I had my bags packed and ready to go. The Formal ran from seven to midnight. Luke and I were leaving around ten. He tried to convince me to go and my mother even pulled my dress out of the closet and hung it on the back of the door. I stared at it until eight o’clock. Then someone knocked on the door.
“Come in,” I said.
My brother opened the door.
“Don’t you look snazzy?” I said, smiling.
It was the first time I’d ever seen him in a tux. Mom had trimmed his hair that morning so he looked fresh and clean.
“And don’t you look…great.”
I was wearing my gear, no make up, and my hair up in a tight ponytail.
“Yeah I’m styling.”
“There’s still time.”
“I’m leaving in two hours.”
“For three days, I know.” His face sobered. “I’ll worry.”
I gave him a sad smile. “At least someone will.”
“Well, I’m off.”
“Tell Sophie I said hi.”
“Will do.”
He left my door open and took off. Luke was next, my parents already left to go do chaperone duties. He wore his gear, just like me. He leaned against the door frame, arms crossed over his chest.
“He’s right you know. You could still make an appearance.”
“Why? So I can watch everyone else have fun? I’ll pass.”
“Georgiana.” He came over and sat down next to me. “You should go. This is your last chance to go. You’re graduating in the spring. You need these little experiences.”
“I don’t want to go.”
He nodded. “Alright. I’m not going to force you.”
“I know.”
“Oh, I almost forgot.” He pulled an envelope out of his pocket. “This is for you.”
He handed it to me and then left. I opened it, already knowing who it was from.
