I grew up in a normal world, full of average people. There was bad people out there though, like the rapist we had a few years ago, or the occasional kidnapping. But my story is more than just that. I wasn't kidnapped or raped, but I was hurt, badly. I can say this though, they're out there. The wolf people. I see the occasional wolf and the next thing you know, they're human. The kids at school think I'm weird and my parents don't believe in fantasies. But I do. I believe. Do you?

I live in a small town near the edge of the woods. I don't have many friends but I don't care, I don't need any. My town goes through a lot though. A few months ago a 26 year old girl was found dead in a parking lot. She was killed by a wolf. A year before that a 17 year old boy was also killed by a wolf, and now it's happened again. Except the wolves are ruthless. This time the wolves struck during the day which if you think about it, doesn't happen often. They killed a family of 4 and there was only 2 wolves. The parents were 32 and 38 and their 2 kids were 12 and 16.
I walked passed the scene and saw a bunch of news vans and police and ambulances all over the place. I rolled my eyes and continued to walk home. It was getting dark outside and I needed to be home soon or I'd be dead. I decided to take a shortcut so I'd get home faster. I heard howling and it was close. That's when I heard the rustling of the leaves and I broke into a run.

I don't remember what happened after that.

A few weeks later

I woke up in a hospital bed with tubes and needles sticking out of me. I hate needles, I try to take them out but I'm to weak to move my arms. I look over to my left and see the door ajar. My parents are standing there talking to the doctor. So I did the only thing I could.
I listened.
"-is that she's in critical condition." Says the doctor. By the sound of it, my doctors' a woman. My father answered her.
"Isn't there anything you can do doctor Sampson?"
"I'm afraid not." Then my mother said something.
"Can you at least tell us what happened?"
"Yes. I can. When those couple of kids found her almost dead with all those wounds and all the blood she'd already lost, they were lucky they found her before she died. What we know so far is that he has a concussion, three broken ribs, a fractured wrist and a lot of blood missing."
But what attacked her?" My father asked.
"Don't you know Mr Stryker. A wild animal attacked her. Most likely a wolf."
I laid in my bed trying to grasp what I had just heard. A wolf? I knew they were running around killing people, but I never expected to survive an attack from one. I mean, what are the odds that I get attacked after seeing the aftermath of an attack? Coincidence I think not.
