"I'm sorry he said" when he noticed I pushed him away.

"that's ok it's not, you its me"
I said not really knowing what else to say to him. I mean he's a married man  as well.

"You kiss just fine" he said with a smile on his face

"That's not what I mean.. I batt for other team" I said smiling back

"Oh, I get you he said"

I looked at my watch, trying to find any excuse to get out!

"Wow look at the time" I said drinking the last bit of my drink.

"I really should get going Night every one, Night Wright I see you at work tomorrow" I said looking at the floor.

I couldn't wait to get out of their view, it felt like every one was staring. I ain't kissed a boy/man since my senior prom and that was just as awkward.

I grabbed a taxi thanking my self that I went home first before I went to the bar and decided to leave my car there.

----

I laid in bed thinking about what had happened and what had led to the kiss.

I hope I didn't lead him on in any way.

This night was the first time Iv slept alway through since Iv been here and it was bliss not waking up to alarm because my head was pounding.

I groaned at the thought of going to work later, this is just going to be great. It's bad enough being a woman and a detective at the same time.

---

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath feeling nervous and the walked into the squad room, I saw Dt Wright first he looked as bad as I did.

"I'm sorry about last night" he said with apologetic smile

I decided to play dumb so we both wouldn't feel embarrassed.
"what about last night? I had way to much to drink it's all kind of hazy"

"nothing" he quickly said realising I couldn't remember or at least he thought I couldn't remember.

I looked around the room "ok so has NYPD told us anything thing about their investigation?"

"No they said that they have to many open cases and if we want them we have to come down and search for them our selfs"

"what Jackasses" I said under my breath.

"ok I'm going down to the morgue to see if Dr Griffin has got the results of the toxicology results and the rap test results"

I grabbed a two cups of bad coffee from the cafe on the ground floor and headed down.

"Hey, I brought coffee" I said when I saw Clarke

"Thanks!" she said in a tone I hadn't heard before or was it just because I had an hangover.

"Do we have the results back to the tests?"

"Yes she was drugged like the others, rap kits all come back positive and he left DNA too, I can't tell you who it is but I can tell you the DNA we found under the victims finger nails are a match to the rap kits"

"ok thanks"

"don't mention it" she said, I looked at her and she had this stoic look on her face.

Something was different, something had changed.

"Have I done something wrong?"

"Why would you say that? I don't even know you"

something was defiantly wrong I could feel it.

"Ok well you'll have to report to Dt Wright tomorrow"

"Why?" she said with curiosity on her face

"I'm going to book my self on the next flight to New York, we need them files"

I wasn't looking forward to going back to NY especially the police department, I mean I did leave for a reason.

This killer is not giving us any clues, I need them files in case there is so clues in them that could help us.

Later that night I was all packed for one night stay I thought I'd go and see my friends while I was down there you no kill two birds with one stone kind of thing.

I couldn't sleep again, which was no surprise only time I can sleep well is when intoxicated.

I was up at 4am eating my fruit loops, I just made a fresh batch of coffee and I was watching the news like I do every morning.

Today's headline was about the three girls that have been murdered it's been the same for the past few weeks.

I still watched it though because I knew a friend who was working a case once and she had no leads and she watched the news and they had more information that the cops dos because some time the killer likes to brag about what they have done.

I heard a knock on door, who could it be at this time I thought to my self as I got up from the breakfast bar to answer it.

"Clarke. H..How do you know where I live?"

"Please, I'm a genius"

I looked at her with a questioning look as in to say, I'm not buying it.

"Ok, I looked it up on database"

"Why? what you doing here?"
At least she sounded like she wasn't mad at me any more.

she stayed quite for a minute. I noticed she was holding something, I looked down and realised it was a push along case, then it clicked.

"You coming to New York" I said it more as a statement than a question
she just nodded.

"Well come in then" I said as I stepped a side so she could come in.
Then I realised I was only wearing hot pants and a long shirt, I tried not to feel embarrassed.

"Coffee?"

"please" she said looking at me then smiling at me.

I turned down the news and finished eating my breakfast.

"I needed to come so I can check out the autopsy results" she trailed on

"So" she began but stopped, I looked up at her and held the spoon in midair.

"So you looking forward going back to NYPD?"

"Not really"

she looked at me with a questioning look but she did not push on.

"I guess I should get ready, the car should be here soon"

"I like what your wearing" she said with flash of shyness that crossed her face.

I just smiled back and then went into the bedroom to get dressed.
