Tonight you will go to sleep
You will dream your beautiful happy dreams
You will awake in the morning to a happy family
And you will walk to school with your beautiful boyfriend
Without a care in the world
But tonight she will not go to sleep
Tonight she won't dream beautiful happy dreams
She will dream of darkness
She will open her eyes to a pain between her legs
Then she would have to walk to school
All alone
With no love in her world
Today you will get all the attention from the students and the teachers
You will be called beautiful and smart
And you will walk around school with all your beautiful friends
But she will not get attention from the students and the teachers
The only attention she will get is that one guidance counselor
Who always tells her "she should do better"
She will not be called beautiful, she will be called weird and strange, and hideous
She does not have any friends to walk around with
Today you will sit with all your friends at lunch
And laugh about everything
And make plans for the weekend
And suddenly she will bump into a girl
And say, "Why are you always depressed, I mean other people have problems, too"
Today she will sit alone at lunch
She will not laugh
She will feel nothing
Nothing at all
Until suddenly she will bump into this girl
And the girl will ask, "Why are you always depressed, I mean other people have problems, too."
Today you will walk home to a happy family
And then go out will all your friends
But today she will go home to a beating
And rape
And she will ask herself "Why am I so depressed, I mean other people have problems, too."
And she will not have anyone to talk to about her problems
She will have no one to comfort her
She will only have a knife
That gives her that love and happiness she longs for
Tonight she will forever sleep with the angels
But tomorrow you will all cry in mourning
Wondering what was wrong with her
Stating that you miss her
That you're sorry she died
But little do you know
You little question, "Why are you so depressed, I mean other people have problems, too."
Is the reason she felt as if she doesn't belong her
Because everyone have problems, too
And her "problem" meant nothing to you
Little did you know she was pregnant, too
Seventh months pregnant
Looking more like two
Little did you know she never wanted anything
She didn't want friends, she didn't want family,
All she wanted was love
Little did you know...she prayed every night
Pleading to God for this to end
Asking why she deserved this pain
Little did you know
She once was as happy as you
Until her father lost his mind
And started doing things
You're glad you never knew
Maybe someone in heaven will care
And understand her life wasn't a problem,
It was hell
Living a life full of destruction
Waking up everyday
Thinking her prayers
Did nothing.
