Ok, here's a bunch of information on my demon rankings and where my OCs fit in and to add more context to CoD. Enjoy! There's a lot, but if you have any questions, feel free to comment.

Rankings
Demons are divided into 4 rankings, or grades, based primarily on the strength of their abilities and strength in battle. They run from Rank 1 down to Rank 4, which are the weakest.

Types
There are three types of demons:-
Elemental- these are the most common type of demon and represent materials on earth. The strongest (and rarest) elemental demons are those of the four elements but thousands of variants exist in all grades.
Gem- more rarely, demons related to one type of gemstone are found (this is basically Steven Universe as cats btw :3)
Mystic- These are the rarest demons and only two types are known. They are extremely powerful yet extremely mysterious and little is known about them.
Abilities
All demons have three types of abilities:-
Attacking abilities- these are those used in battle which are offensive and designed to damage other demons
Defensive/healing- used to protect or heal themselves or others
Universal- abilities such as fusion, merging and empathy

List of graded demons
Rank 1
The most powerful Rank and extremely rare. Capable of both fusion and merging. Dominant in fusion.
Elemental- Fire, Water, Earth, Air
Gem- Obsidian, Quartz, Jade
Mystic- All Mystics are Rank 1- Empathic, Spirited

Rank 2
Second most powerful rank and still very dangerous in battle. Capable of fusion and merging. Usually dominant but can be overcome.
Elemental: Many, but strongest are- Thunder, Swift, Healing, Creator, Nature, Sensory, Aqua-native, Pyro-native, Aura-native, star
Gem- Emerald, Ruby, White Diamond, Tiger Eye, Prismarine, and more

Rank 3
Standard rank of most demons. Can have strengths but most often workers in societies. Sometimes capable of fusion but never merging. Never dominant.
Elemental- thousands upon thousands, commonest include- Battle-strong, Medicinal, Light, Dark, Affinitised
Gem- most of the rank 3 gems are either Sapphire, Amethyst or Opal, with various abilities

Rank 4
Rank 4 demons have little or no power unless specifically blessed. They only differ from normal cats in small visual ways, for example unusual pelt colours or eye colours.
Elemental: most elemental demons are either sand, stone or metal
Gem: most of the gem population are rank 4 and either agate, turquoise or topaz

Fusion
Two demons can fuse to create a second demon, which is often stronger. The dominant demon controls the fusion, though the strongest demons have both working equally.
Elemental fusions- common in second and third ranks. Rank 1 fusions are very rare and very strong.
Strongest fusions:- Magma (earth/fire), Vapour (fire/water), Storm (water/air), Thunder-healing (thunder/healing), Celestial (swift/star)

Gem fusions- also common in all ranks but 4. Not as strong as elemental. Many, I won't list them here.

Mystic fusions- no two mystics have ever fused, but it is predicted that if they did it would create a being so powerful it would become divine and immortal. However, mystics have fused with elementals, creating:-
Fear-seeing (empathic/fire)
Mistforce (spirited/creator)
