Stare: Book #1

Prologue

I stared into the dark never ending tunnel.
Am I dead ?
Is this a Nightmare ?
Complex thoughts for 5 year old but that is what I thought.
A harsh high pitched sound rippled through my small brain. Then came the shaking. It felt like the whole world was having a teenage dance party. After what felt like a eternity of shaking a cold liquid fell on my face. A horrid stomachache came like a knife piercing my abdomen. Two blurry people came into view. Tommy Lee and Maddie. Tommy Lee is my older brother who is 8 and Maddie is our babysitter.
" Is she okay " Tommy Lee says, a lot a worry in his voice.
" No " replies Maddie " She just sliced her stomach with a pocket knife"
" It doesn't look deep"
" Yeah" " No hospital this time honey "
That's why my stomach hurts ! I try to move but I'm paralyzed. I feel my breath shortening as I breath. I try talking but it comes out as a muffled whisper.
" She's trying to talk !" Tommy Lee Says , all his worry washing away.
I try to say more but a wash of dark comes over my eyes.
No !
I have to wake up again !
I use all the strength my small body can muster and attempt to move. My arm then trashes back into what feels like a table as I hear sirens. Strong hands put me on a uncomfortable bed on wheels. My eyes slowly open and I see Tommy Lee, Maddie and A man next to me on the bed. My eyes then fall closed and I go into a deep sleep.
