"Goodmorning Craig. Great to see you're back." Nicky said at the front desk and gave me a smile while I walked over to her. "It's great seeing you too. I haven't missed much while I was out vaction have I?" I asked hoping I didn't have a lot of work today after leaving for three days. "Well we just released a new game that you help, so that's done now. And there is suppose to be a meeting today talking about our next project to work on." Nicky informed me while she played with her half blue half black hair. "What time is the meeting?" I asked and she handed me a list. "This tells you who all is going to be there and what time the meetings will be." The phone started to suddenly ring. "3 Black dot studio how may I help you?" I took the paper and began my way to my work space next to everyone else. "Hey Craig welcome back!" Zack greeted me with a bright smile on his face and I gave him this dreadful frown that I always give him. His peppy shit is on a whole other level, just hearing him talk makes me want to take my pen and stab it into my right eye. "Hi Zack..." I said in a deep voice and walked into the main editors room. Computers and desks were set up side by side and people typed away on their keyboards working on what i'm assuming is going to be our next game. I placed my things on the floor beside my chair and took out my headphones and began working on a small animation.
Time flies by as I continued my work and I realized it's time for our meeting. Me and a couple other people stood up from our desks and went to the meeting room. In the room was a large, oval table with multiple chairs around the edges. I took my seat next to Evan and Brian, starting a conversation waiting for our boss to come in. "I think our next project is going to be a action game involving the butterfly effect." Evan mentioned as he leaned back in his chair with his hands behind his head, "That's not what I heard, it's suppose to be a type of story based game that revolves around this hunter who wants revenge on his family who got murdered." Brian said as he placed his laptop back into his case. The door to the room open and then closed and Alex began to talk. "Alright everyone settle down. I'll finally lay the rumors to rest today... We will be starting a new game this month, but we don't have a storyline to follow. Our theme is creepy, scary, and murder. So for your assignment this week, you will write a story line for the game that fits the theme. Stories are due next week on tuesday, so good luck! Meeting adjourned." and with that everyone gathered their things and went out the door, back to their stations to start writing on their stories. "I can't believe he wants them due in a week. No one can come up with a perfectly, well planned out story in that short amount of time." Brian complained. "You're not wrong, but he's always like this so it was kind of expected." Evan said while he broke away from the group and went to his desk. "I guess it was expected, But he should really consider giving us a heads up and not wait until the last second." Brian took his seat at his desk that was right in front of mine. "Yeah, maybe someone should tell him. It's beginning to get troublesome." Craig said and then threw his headphones on and began to type away at his keyboard and playing some music to help him think.
Now it seems like I need to come up with a creepy, horrific, and murderous story. One that will stand out more than the others which shouldn't be hard since all three of those words describe me. I began to think, but nothing great really came to mind, all I could think of was the things I usually do at home which shouldn't really be mentioned and the people who played the game after I made it would just throw up after seeing the gore. A big smile came to my face, one that said bad things were to happen. I've got an idea...
~A week later
"You call these stories?! These are just a bunch of chicken scratch on paper! The only person that managed to come up with the best was Cy! His was the only one that didn't sound like shit! Dismissed..." Alex walked out the door with the single paper by Cy and everyone else's papers were on the floor. "What a dick." Evan said. "I know! I thought mine was pretty good, but I guess assholes don't have a good eye for great story writing." Brian said and picked his paper up. "Yeah right, I think Craig had a better chance than you and he didn't even do one." Evan joked and Craig and him laughed. "Why didn't you do one craig?" Brian asked. "I was planing on making it my own game and then pitching it in. I've already made one fourth of the game, I was up all night getting every detail of it done." I answered collecting my laptop. "If you're making it yourself then you should probably find someone who isn't a dick to produce it." Evan said and we all headed out of the conference room. "Hey, you guys want to go out and eat?" Brian asked. "Sure, why not. Are you coming Craig." Evan asked me. "Sure, but I brought my own lunch." I answered and we all began to grab our things and leave the building.
