Kelsey's POV

"Hey girlfriend!" I heard my best friend, Abby yell from across the hall.

"Do you have to be so loud all the time?!" I whisper-yelled.

She giggled and threw her arm around me "because your my bestie, duh!!"

I smiled at the thought. No matter how annoying, loud, and obnoxious Abby could be, she still always had my back. She's also very confident. She makes it look easy, when really, it's not. She can stand up to everyone. Even Julia Johnson, who is hard to crack. Ugh, Julia. I hate thinking about it. I never have the courage to say anything to her when she makes fun of me or teases me, so I just let her walk all over me. Yes, I know that's bad to say. But I'm owning up to it, unlike some characters in books and movies that are too cliche to address there own problems head on.

All of a sudden, the hallways clear out and I know exactly what time it is. My absolute favorite part of the day (note the sarcasm) when Kelsey and her posse march down the halls in all there glory, meaning all the glory of a trash bag, and target right at me. It's happened every single day. I mean, of course I'm humiliated, but I go to the bathroom and cry for a few minutes and then I'm fine. Happens everyday.

I can hear her designer (deet) heels clicking down the halls toward me.

Here we go, put on your in innocent face.

But she walked right past me.

Only to go see Shawn Starling, my crush since the second grade.

Of course, he barely knows I exist because I'm like a shadow. I just blend in with the crowd, there's nothing special about me.

I watch her walk over to him and act as her flirty self--giggling, twirling her hair around her finger, trying to find a way to get the guys attention. Shawn smiles and laughs about whatever there talking about with her, and all of a sudden, my heart fluttered. He looks at her and calls her off. He says he's not interested. Julia Looks like she's about to throw up. Until she sees me.

I swallow hard.

Great.

Just great.

I turn around and face my locker, pretending to put a book into my bag, being ready for what's coming.

"Hey loser" I hear that annoying voice of her's say. I don't even turn around to look at her. "Hey!!" She yells as she pulls my wrist and I face her. "You look at me when I'm talking to you!" Julia says as she pops her gum.

She looks down at my outfit. Just a regular t shirt and jeans, what's so wrong with that? She smirks as she looks me up and down.

"This shirt looks like you bought it from the store for homeless people" she says. Julia takes her hand and traces it along the left short sleeve. "I suppose it could look even worse if we did this" she says as she yanks the sleeve off, causing it to talk on the floor. I start at her in shock.

How dare she have the right to do that?

Who am I kidding, I don't even care. She does this to me all the time.

I look down at her outfit. A white top that isn't long enough to even be considered a crop top, and a pink skirt that doesn't go below her waist, so you could still see part of her underwear.

Ugh

Yuch.

Julia suddenly spins around and grabs the collar of my shirt and starts to pull down. "Watch ya gonna do about it? Huh?" She says as she pops her gum, so boys are snickering while girls are staring in shock.

"That's what I thought" she says. She walks past me and whispers into my ear, "I'm not done with you today yet." And walks off, causing her hips to sway.

Just a normal day in the life of Kelsey.
