"Quickly!" I heard a scream coming from where my door was. "They have come for us and we have to leave!" it said. "Okay, okay, I'm coming." Suddenly a piercing sound came on in my head, as if a switch had been flipped. The person who was screaming at me, whom I did not know, was holding his ears too and screaming at me that someone was jamming all frequencies, including all the ones we could hear. He motioned me through some doors, behind which I saw a person wavering in and out of visibility as if she were a ghost. *So you're Xander. You seem a bit younger than I thought, hmm. Well, you're in the best hands now Xander. That man that is screaming at you is known here as The Bringer, but his real name is Zac Stirling. He is to be your protector, he actually organised memories for you for your new life, where you are going. My name is Ytheria, but people here call me Wonderess. That buzzing that you were hearing earlier, that was I and was one of my abilities. You will find all this out when you meet me in the next life, but until then*. Time started moving again, as if I was trapped in my mind for that whole time. Zac motioned me towards a glass dome that had energy pulsing from it. There were four younger people around my age with what looked like their parents, and then there was an older woman inside the dome. Zac introduced me to everyone and they in turn introduced themselves to me. Dan smiled at me, a goofy little smirk that made butterflies erupt in my stomach. Then Demi hair flipped and winked at me, calling my cutie. Grace giggled and hugged me, and Celestia just said her name and danced her eyes around the ground. She interested me, but that was obviously going to have to wait. Zac motioned me into the dome, where an opening had just appeared, and then the rest of the grown-ups did the same. The woman in the middle of the room suddenly looked up and smiled a very creepy smile. She was chanting, something almost inaudible, and what could be heard was in other languages but then she handed us all small slips of paper, with what seemed to be what she was saying on it and she moved her head as though we were supposed to say it.
"Minds connected, bodies alive. Alone they are powerless, but together power will spill from them. Consciousness compromised, but identity fluid. Peer behind a curtain, and volatility is found. Life enshrouded in mystery can still the ebb and flow of the father and tame the rage of a mother unrealised. Ice and fire connected, body and soul, when untapped power realised eyes blind to things simplified will see with unabashed clarity. A life yet unclear, and yet it will be known as the only one, reality is tainted perception, perceived as one thing or another, and only when reality is perceived will truth be spoken with true clarity. I open one door but only after closing the one behind, and a life as yet unrealised suddenly fades into crystal clear clarity."
...
'Xander honey, time for your first day of school' I heard mum call from downstairs. I jumped out of bed and dressed in record time. My friend Dan's mum was waiting in the driveway, ready to take us both to school. 'Make some friends today yeah?' Mum called from the front door. I opened the car door only to see a familiar smirk smiling up at me.
