The next day Alrea woke up still in the tree she had unsuccessfully hidden in. To her surprise there was somebody ELSE who had fallen asleep in (more like under) the oak: Lydia.
"Lydia?" Alrea couldn't think of why this person she screamed at, ignored, and shunned had slept through the freezing cold night in nothing but a dress just to be able to...wait, what was she doing there? Lydia could have been there to KILL Alrea for all she knew.
"Lydia?" Alrea asked cautiously. "What are you doing here?"
But Lydia wouldn't wake up. Alrea waited....and waited...and waited until she finally realized she was late for training so she left.

"Alrea!!!" Alrea turned to see Lydia run across the field. "Alrea! I'm so glad I caught you!"
Alrea couldn't think of what to say. GLAD? Nobody had ever been glad to see her. Disappointed? Yes. Angry? Naturally. But GLAD? No.
"You were under a tree." She managed.
"I know," Lydia said. She was obviously trying not to laugh. "I thought. I'd wake up before you so when YOU woke up I could apologize for making you feel bad."
Alrea (for the first time in her life) was at a loss for words.
"You amaze me Lydia." She said.
"Thank you." Lydia replied. "I have a proposition: let's start from the beginning, let's try again."
