Kira reached the café and was greeted by yet another 'surprise'.
Bo Ra, the girl she works with, had to rush to the hospital due to an emergency, leaving the entire café to Kira to manage.
The other two workers had taken the day off and there was just half an hour left before opening time. She had absolutely no idea how she would handle it all by herself.
As she was pacing up and down, trying and failing to come up with a plan of action, Kira heard the doors of the café open. She looked up to see a dark-haired boy wearing a sleeveless tee and basketball shorts walk in.
In her broken Korean, Kira said, "I'm sorry sir but we don't open for another half an hour."
The boy replied rapidly in Korean. Kira just stared blankly, not understanding him completely. "Sir, could you please speak a little slower? You see, I can't speak Korean too well."
As it dawned on the boy he asked, "Do you speak English?"
Kira nodded, relieved.
"Actually, I was recently hired by the café and today is my first day here," the boy explained. Kira checked the records and what he said seemed to be true.
Kira quickly informed him of the situation.
The boy said, "Don't worry. I'll handle taking the orders and you can handle the other stuff."
He smiled reassuringly. I smiled back, relieved.
"Oh, and my name is Park Jimin."
"Annyeongaseyo Jimin-ssi, my name is Kira," Kira said with and awkward bow and a lot of waving.
Jimin chuckled at the sight, his eyes disappearing and his nose crinkling cutely. Kira rubbed the back of her neck, cheeks rose-tinted.
"You're obviously not from Korea, are you?"
"Hehe. No, I'm not. I'm actually an exchange student from India. I'm sorry if I offended you in any way. I'm still not completely aware of all the customs of Korea. I truly am sorry." Kira said, bowing multiple times.
"Aniyo, aniyo. It's quite alright. You'll get used to our ways. I can teach you some of our other 'customs' too, if you'd like," Jimin said, wiggling his eyebrows.
Kira's eyes widened at the implication, her ears turning red.
Raising her fist she said, "Yah! If you turn out to be a psycho byuntae and try anything funny, I'll make sure that your family jewels won't be functional in the near future."
Jimin just chuckled at her threat, raising his hands in defeat before continuing with his work.
The two worked well together and managed to avert any major catastrophes.
"Uwah! We made it!" Jimin exclaimed happily.
By the end of their shift, they were absolutely famished and exhausted. They shared a cheesecake and celebrated the end of their shift.
As they were closing up, someone shouted Jimin's name. As the person walked towards them, Kira's eyes widened in surprise."Kira!?"
