I was young. 11 years old and not a dull scale on my body. I was a green colour with blue horns and spines. I was a female and I lived alone. My parents had been hunted down by man. Those creatures hated us.
I was sitting with the moon shining on my scales. A beautiful night. Clear and plenty of stars. I loved to fall asleep under them but for some reason, I felt uneasy and couldn't sleep. I tried counting the stars but I still couldn't drift off. I decided to look around to ease my fears...
I spread my wings and flew to the grass land. A long stretch of grass where travelling humans would sometimes set up camps. I looked around and only saw a lonely wolf. "See, nothing to worry about" I told my self. As I turned around I could see bats in a bush looking out. No not bat eyes... They were red and had hatred in them. I turned and started to fly back to my nest. I heard something rustle behind me so I flew away as fast as I could.
I got to my nest. A small cave in a cliff face. Not much but it was home. In my cave I had a small spring and a forest nearby for food. I was happy... Until it came. I turned around and I saw a terrible sight. A monster. It was like me a dragon with white scales plus blue spines. Only I had blue eyes and was relatively small for my age but it had red eyes and was as big as a mountain! I was paralysed with fear. It was ten times my size. It opened its huge jaws and...
I woke up in a strange place that smelled of people. I looked around and saw I was in a cave. I checked myself for injuries. I was burnt but not seriously hurt. No one was here with me. I flew out to look for food. A deer was sitting eating grass. An unsuspecting snack. I grabbed it, killed it and flew back to the cave. It was bigger than mine with a campfire in the middle. How strange. Dragons don't usually have fires in their cave.
Something touched my tail and I instinctively turned round and I saw a human boy. He didn't at all look afraid of me. "Excuse me but could I know you name?" he said. "Mine is Ben."
" Oh, my name is Mulinmur." I replied. "Can I be your friend? I don't have many friends and I am looking for a new one. Also you seem like the best friend to have." He explained. "Sure. We will be friends to the end." I answered. That was the start of a new adventure as we would both soon discover...
