They say that High School is the best four years of your life. They say "Make the most of it!", yet I cant figure out how to. I have my own group of friends, I play sports, and I'm a pretty good student. Nothing about me stands out though. My bland brown hair does nothing to compliment my face, and even my blue eyes look dull in the wrong lighting. If I put too much makeup on, I look like a clown, but if I don't put any on at all, I look like a sleep-deprived zombie. I wish I could just travel back to the days when all of this didn't matter. When someone's opinion on me wasn't all I could think of, when things like boys and makeup and clothes were things far from my train of thought. Thoose were the glory days, the best years of my life.
When I start depressing myself to an all time low, I'm saved by the bell, and the tugging hand of my best friend, Sophia. I yearn to have a fraction of her looks. Blonde, wavy locks cascade down her back, and her pair of warm, golden eyes can charm even the most egoistic person. To top it off, she has the personality that makes her everyone's friend. She seems like the perfect figure of a girl enjoying the "best four years" of her life.
"Come on, Brennah! Do you want to wait an hour in line for some fries?"
She starts dragging me down the hall racing to the cafeteria. As we settle ourselves in to our usual spot, a shadow catches my sight. I turn fully around to see a boy looking directly at me, then quickly turn away, startled. I pause for a moment to asses what just happened. Was he looking at me? No, he couldn't have been he was probably looking at Sophia. But then why would he turn so quick when I took a glance? All while I'm thinking, Sophia and my other good friend, Isabella are poking at me and waving their fingers in front of my face.
"Helloooo! Brennah!" says an irked Sophia.
"Who are you looking at Brenn? Someone special?"
I don't know who I was looking at.
But I will find out.
