"Congratulations to the class of 2016! " , The principal of Windsor Forest spoke over the loud speaker. As everyone that I watched grow up over the past 12 years, threw their caps in the air I stood frozen, this is the last time I will see these people I care so deeply for. In this moment I knew my childhood was over and I'm starting a new chapter in my life.
By the end of the summer I will be enlisting in the United States Army. 'Saying goodbye will be the hardest part.' I said to myself .
Right at that moment my best friend Alexis interrupted my thoughts, "WE DID IT!!!!" She squealed gesturing me to give her a hug. I smiled softly and hugged my best friend for what feels like the last time. Alexis kept me for a few minutes taking about her being excepted into the University of Georgia when I finally told her I had to go meet my family. We shared our goodbyes and parted ways. This seemed like the hardest thing I've ever done.
As I walked out of the auditorium to meet my family, I realized my fellow classmates have their whole life planned out for them and I'm more like a rock standing still.
I then realized I didn't have any family show up so I skipped the wonderful celebrations and decided to go home.

As I pulled into my drive way my mother was sitting on the front porch smoking a cigarette. As soon as she saw me her face went pale. "W-was that today?" She asked with shame in her voice. "Yes but maybe if you laid off the booze you would have remembered." I said as I barged through the door.
"IM SORRY SAM!"
"Yeah right.." I mumbled as I went up stairs to grab my things and get ready to go to the graduation party at Alexis's boyfriend Nathan's house.
I grabbed my army green skinny jeans and a skin tight burgundy shirt then headed for the shower.
After I put on my clothes I went back for accessories and got my gold heart necklace my dad gave me, then I grabbed a couple other things before I headed out.

"My milk shake brings all the boys to the yard!" I began to laugh as I grabbed my phone immediately knowing who it was due to the ring tone.
"Hello Alexis."
"Where are you SAM!!!"
"I'm on my way I'm 10 minutes out I promise"
"Well you better hurry up! I have a Handsome young stud over here waiting"
I chucked and then hung up not wanting to hear anymore about the handsome stud she has waiting on me.
I love Alexis but she goes a little over board sometimes..
