A Brand New Adventure

Chapter Four

"We wish to join this guild."

Everyone in the guild began to laugh. Minah was fuming, she wanted to join this guild since she was a child and would not stop now. "Shut up!" she shouted so loud it made everyone shut their mouths.

"I have been waiting to join this guild my whole life, and I will not be discouraged because people want to judge me! I am Minah Harmoni, and I will join this guild whether you like it or not!" Everyone was silent after her words. Until one man spoke up from the balcony above the hall.

"So, you're Alyssa's daughter?" He was a very tall man, and wore a sleeveless tunic that showed off his arms. His hair was a sandy orange, with brown eyes to go with it. What stood out the the group was the four scratch marks that ran across his face.

"I'm Derek, the master if this guild, and a close friend to your mother." Derek held out a hand to Minah, which she reluctantly took.

"If you want to join this guild, you all have to prove yourself." He had a slightly creepy grin plastered on his face. "There is a creature in the forest, you have to capture it, and bring it here."

"Why do we have to go get it?" Gwendolyn finally spoke up from behind Jar, very skeptical about this whole situation.

"It's to test you, so It won't be easy. Edward!" He shouted in the hall, and a shorter man stood up. Edward lifted up his shirt and slightly bloody bandages lined his abdomen.

"He left to fight it, not too long ago. He got badly injured and can't go back out on missions for a while."

"You will bring it here so he can get his revenge. Got it?" Derek demanded.

"Yes sir!" All three of the friends saluted and walked out of the guild.

"But wait, what does the creature look like?" Gwendolyn asked.

"Don't worry, you'll know when you see it. Edward injured it for you." Derek smiled as they left in confusion.

As they were walking to leave the village into the forests, they heard someone yelling in the distance. "Stop! Stop!"

When they looked back they saw a girl with red hair and green eyes running after them. She had a plain white shirt and tan shorts, high boots that reached the thigh, along with black fingerless gloves with spikes?

When she reached the three she was out of breath and was hunched over. After she caught her breath she spoke. "Please take me with you!" She begged.

"My name is Riku, I saw you go into the guild hall! You are being tested right?" She spoke rushed and desperate.

"Yeah, we are." Minah replied confused.

"I want to go with you! They refused to test me, so if I go with you ; they will have to let me in!" She held her hands together in a pleading manner.

"Alright, you can come." Minah replied blankly.

"Wait, what?" she said shocked.

"You can come, but hurry before we leave you here." Jar said as all three of them continued walking. Riku cheered before running after them, pumping her fist in the air.

When they reached the forest, they started searching for the creature. When they got to the forest they decided to split up to cover more ground.

Gwendolyn was a nervous wreck while searching, and had her staff out ready to attack. Also in her grip was a piece of paper.

At the mouth of the forest the group of four sat, while jar was writing something on three pieces of paper. "Here we go!" He excitedly handed out the paper to the girls, who all looked at it with confusion. "It's a spell. We'll split up to find the creature. When and if you do find it, put this on its body and it won't be able to move."

Gwendolyn walked carefully through the forest flinching at the slightest of sounds. She kept walking and stopped and what she saw. Small drops of blood left on the forest floor. Gwendolyn tried to get a closer look, but something in the tree's had another plan.
