The blinding rays of sun beat against my silky auburn skin
Classrooms aren’t as bright as they used to be
It shone as though there was a distant rhythm being played
The sun chose me and only me
Accomplishment of the day
This is where the only light of the room lay
Conversation and chatter bounced from head to head
All different: Melancholy, Sneaky, drowsy, bored
One powerful and bellicose one filled the air
For the first time there was almost complete and utter silence
The rest of class became unclear and a blur
Before I knew it, class was over and the room was empty
Only I, the teacher, and a boy gathering his books remained
As I stretched to get up, simultaneously my books fell
Charcoal black and chipped paint white converse appeared under my face
My face must have shown how secluded I was because he glanced at his watch
