So this originated from a Headcanon by @_percy_posts_ on Insta so the idea goes to them.
It wasn't a warm day... it wasn't cold either.
Annabeth Chase was sat on the end of the docks, just looking-into the water, tears making ripples in the clear lake. She still couldn't believe it, why? She didn't know.
She snapped out of her trance when a mop of raven hair that belonged to her boyfriend sat down next to her, Seaweed Brain.
"Hey wise girl, why the long face?" he said sarcastically, but concern laced his voice and he eyes.
The blonde couldn't even remember why the tears flowed from her stormy eyes, "I-I don't know" she tore her gaze away from the small waves her tears were making it hard to look up at him.
She wished they could stay like this forever, peacefully, in harmony... in love.
He smiled sadly, "You do know, don't lie to yourself" she looked confused, "You'll have to face this sooner or later"
She was still confused, "What do you mean?" The lake was long since forgotten, it was just the two of them. Green met Grey. Smile met frown.
"Goodbye, Wise Girl. I love you, always have, always will"
Recognition flashed through her eyes, she remembered. The cyclops, holding Percy to a tree. The knife, a steel weapon heavily jewelled impaling her Percy's chest. Her boyfriend, her stupid, stupid boyfriend and the apologies she could see in his eyes. The, gods awful, blood, a sickly crimson colour and the smell of rust and copper. She'd seen blood before, it was hard not to, they were demi-gods, after all, but the last time it had made her feel this sick was Luke's death. And lastly, the last flash of haunting memories.
His eyes.
Those beautiful sea green eyes, the ones she fell in love with when she was only twelve. Were replaced with a cold and empty shell, no emotion, no love. And it broke her. The kindness and adoration and life draining from his eyes.
Annabeth broke out of her flash-backs and reached for her boyfriend, though, he wasn't there. She scrambled to her feet and yelled out his name.
"Seaweed Brain!" no reply, it's a dream, she told herself as she called again. It finally began to sink in.
"PERCY!" She broke, her knees crumbling, hitting the hard wood of the same dock that they had sat on when they were only sixteen, the same dock they had sat on after the war against Kronos, the same damn dock that Clarisse had thrown them off, the same one they had shared their first kiss under...
She realised it then, she was alone. A hole in her heart, not even Apollo could fix it, the God of medicine couldn't do jack-shit to help her.
She was alone on the dock, their dock, she always was, stupid Percy's been de-, Annabeth couldn't bring herself to say the 'D' word.
Only then did she realise how alone she was, and from now on... always would be.
I love you too Seaweed Brain, see you soon...
Well, that got depressing, but I suppose I'm depressed.
I'm going to put this on both Wattpad and FF.net
