Days passed they didn't talk to each other though they used to see other everyday. One day Elina was sitting on the stairs outside the college,Edward came and sat next to her. She acted as if he wasn't there.
"I am so sorry" He said in an apologizing way.
"You never had a pain of losing a family" She said.
"I know I should've done that"
"You are the most unluckiest person I've ever seen"
"I don't like her, she never let me meet my father"
"She is your mother and she might have done that for you" She tried to speak loudly.
"Can we leave this topic?" He asked.
"You should realize how important she is for you"
"But she could never have done this to me, But but I'll work on it,I'll treat you right" Edward said.
"You better promise me" Elina said.
"Promise" Edward smiled.
"Btw you are looking cute today" Elina added.
"So you are trying to flirt with me?" Edward laughed.
"No I was just giving you a compliment" Elina said.
Elina's phone rang
"Okay I'll reach there as soon as possible" Elina said
"Okay Edward I have to go now, see you later"
"May I ask where?" Edward said
"For an interview" She told
"So you are going to do a job?"
"Yeah, I need money to survive, ain't got a rich father like you"
"What If I give yo some money?" He asked.
"No never, I guess I should leave now I am getting late" She said.
"Let me drop you" he said
"No I'll take taxi, not a big deal" She smiled and moved away.
The door bell rang and Edward's mother opened the door
"Hey dear that's so nice to see you here , Come in"
Elina was holding bag that had dinner in it she handed over that to Edward's mother and entered the lounge.
"That's quiet surprising to see you here" Edward said.
"Hi I was just wondering if I can have dinner with you people,I mean I was really bored "
"Alright dear that's not an issue" Edward's mother said.
"How was your interview?" Edward asked.
"It was good, in fact really good.They appointed me as a manger & now I have to try my best 'cause I just don't want to lose this job" She said.
"Best of luck" Edward said.
They sat on the dinning table for the dinner
"See I am working on it, I am treating her right" He whispered in Elina's ear.
"Well I appreciate that" She spoke softly.
Elina was so happy to see this and the happiness in Edward's mother eyes are not expressible.
"Excuse me I have to attend a call" Edward said and he moved out of the dinning room.
"I know this is all because of you Elina this,I have tried my level best to bring that change in him and I can see him changing now and that's not because of me that's because of you,Thank you so much dear" Edward's mother said and she kissed on Elina's hand.
"I just made him realize how important you are for him" She said.
"May God bless you dear"
"May I ask you something" Elina asked but she looked was nervous.
"Yes dear"
"Why you left Edward's father" She said.
Edward's mother stared at her
"No No I mean what actually happened that you didn't let him meet his father"
"Edward's father was a criminal, Edward was 8 years old when his father came back from jail after 5 years, We spend a few months together But I never wanted my child to have such family, People used to ask him about his father he was never able to answer that and It used to hurt me. So I left the town and moved in here and then I met Mr.Brook Edward's step father,He let us live in this house,he is really nice man, he gave us shelter . Edward doesn't know this but he prefers Edward over his own children" And then she took a long breath.
Suddenly they both heard the sound of cry and as they looked around Edward was standing like a lifeless statue. He came towards his mother and hugged her.
"I am so sorry mom,I never treated you right, never took good care of yours. I should have realized that you did everything just for me" He cried.
'I guess It's getting late now,I have to go now" Elina said.
"I'll drop you and I won't hear a word" Edward said.
They both sat in the car and then came an awkward silence .
"Told ya you were wrong" Elina finally said not even looking at him.
"Thanks Elina" Edward said.
She stayed silent.
"Elina?" Edward said
"Yeah?" She said.
"What happened? Are you alright?" He asked
"Yeah I am alright, Drop me I'll walk for here" She said.
"But its raining outside" Edward said.
'I love rain, It's calm and peaceful, So not a big deal" She said.
She smiled and walked down the street.
