I looked down at my paws. I was sixteen and this was the day I was going to shift, well now I have shifted. Everybody was at my party, who would miss the Alpha's daughter's party? This wasn't going as planned, I was supposed to turn into a big powerful wolf. I looked back at my pack, they were either too shocked to do anything or trying to keep their laughter held in. I hissed at the laughing people. Yup, hissed! A kitten hiss. I was small, maybe the size of a year old cat. My fur was black, blue, green, and white. They immediately stopped laughing, I was getting pissed off at them laughing. I looked into a mirror. It's a tradition to have a mirror nearby when it's your first shift. The mirror was something meaningful, I think it involved the moon goddess, maybe it involves her daughter. I looked into the mirror a bit frightened. My eyes were pure black, not even a speck of color, like a demon. The pack probably thinks I'm a demon. Nobody as ever heard of a cat shifter. And I'm positive I was born by my parents, the alphas. So how can two werewolves create a cat? I meow quietly and take a step towards my parents, at first I stumbled but I eventually got the hang of it. My dad bent down and picked me up. I was surprised and found it quite uncomfortable at first. He held me while he and my mom pet me. I purred loudly, embarrassing myself in front of the pack. My dad then looked at the pack member. "My baby girl has shifted, I expect you to treat her with respect as she is the heir to the Alpha position" he said. "But how can a cat be alpha?" Someone asked. "To be an alpha she has to be a leader be ready to make important decisions for the pack. She doesn't have to be a wolf to think for the pack, she has been trained and will continue be trained by me. I assure you she will be a great alpha. If you question her abilities then you question my abilities to teach about the role of alpha" he said sternly. After that everyone went silent, not wanting to disrespect their alpha. My dad placed me on the ground and I ran around a bit. When I saw a bird in the tree. I quickly ran up the tree not caring about the yells, I was going on instinct. Once I got up I swiped at the bird whom fell to the ground with a hurt a wing. I was about to go down when I realized I was stuck. Looking at the pack members I realized they were trying to warn me about going up trees. My human side was nervous on what I was about to do, while my cat side was scared. I closed my eyes and jumped from the tree. Cats always land on their feet, well I did but I'm also clumsy. I fell right after I landed on my four feet. The pack chuckled knowing that that was a trait I got from my human side. I stood up and licked my paw and tail before going to the pack. They threw my clothes at me. Well I'm not a wolf and couldn't carry a bunch of clothes in my mouth. The clothes piled on top of me. I slowly inched backwards so I could still have my clothes. It was a sad thing that their soon to be alpha couldn't carry clothes. Once I shifted and was dressed, I ran to my parents. "How can this happen? I wasn't adopted right?" I asked. "I don't know, honey. And you are definitely not adopted, I can remember how much of a pain it was to get you out of me!" Mom said and smiled at the end. I laughed, I'm sure I was a pain. I always have been a pain and I'm constantly reminded of it. Everyone then went back to partying. I grinded against some hot guys. I also drank a lot, not going to be a fun morning tomorrow.
