"But Bobby, I don't wanna go to sleep!"
Bobby stared down at Dean's daughter, Olivia, also know as Liv. She was a little ball of energy, always on the move, and always eager to learn more about the hunting life. Dean and Bobby didn't want that sort of life for the young girl but she seemed so sure of herself when she told them she wanted to learn. They both supposed it wouldn't hurt if she knew how to protect herself...
"But Liv, it's eleven at night. You need your sleep. What if your daddy comes back tomorrow morning and you're not awake?" Bobby asked slyly. "You can't trick me. I'm four, not stupid." She pointed out. Bobby deadpanned, a small smile on his face.
"I'll tell you what," Bobby started, ready to make a deal just so he could go to sleep. If this squirt was awake, he had to be a awake to. He hated thinking of what might happen if she were running rampant around his house without his supervision.
"What?" Liv questioned, tilting her head cutely. "If you go to sleep now, we can call Dean first thing in the morning." Liv brightened. She never got to call her dad while he was out on a job, he always had to call them. I mean, if he was in a Vampires nest or Werewolf den God knows what might happen if his phone were to ring.
"Really?" Liv asked, her green eyes sparkling with hope and joy. "Would I say it if I didn't mean it?" Bobby smiled. "Yay!" Liv cheered, racing past him and towards the hall, stumbling over her own feet. Bobby let out a chuckle as she raced up the steps, determined to get on her pajamas.
Bobby shook his head in amusement, following after her at a much slower pace. Once he finally made it upstairs she was already sitting on her bed in her pajamas, her legs swinging back and forth rhythmically as she waited for Bobby.
"There you are!" She exclaimed, "Hurry! Hurry!"
Bobby laughed as she did a backwards somersault into her bed, burrowing under the old quilt. Bobby sat down on the edge of her bed, grinning at her, "I think tonight is a good night.... for a story!"
Olivia gasped dramatically, staring at him with wide eyes. "Like, a good one?" She whispered. "Those are the only kind I tell." Bobby said sagely before screwing up his face into a look of intense thought. Olivia stared at Bobby intently.
"Alright!" Bobby exclaimed, clapping his hands together and looking down at the excited little girl. Bobby then proceeded to launch into this long story about how he and Rufus had cleared a vampire nest way back in the good ol' days. Liv fought to stay awake, wanting to hear the full story. However, her determination failed her and she was soon asleep.
Bobby could only smile.
Dean stared at Sam as he hated on his cassette tape collection, feeling very offended. Just as he was about to open his mouth to tell Sam that his cassette tapes were indeed not lame, his phone rang. Sam went silent while Dean scrambled for his phone, hoping it was his dad.
Looking at the caller I.D., he brightened. "Who is it, is it Dad?" Sam asked hopefully, really wanting to get home to Jess so he could practice for his interview. You know, plan. Dean hastily opened up his flip phone, a grin on his face.
"Hey, gumdrop!" Dean said enthusiastically. Sam let out a groan. It was a girl, probably a hooker if he had to guess. "Oh I'm not sure when I'll be back sugar cube, but I promise daddy is thinking of ya." Dean said sincerely. Sam chocked on air, that was disgusting. He did not need to hear that.
"I promise to get you something while I'm out." Dean cooed. "Oh really? Pancakes?" Sam was confused as to why Dean was talking to a girl as if she were a child. Dean didn't do children, that was a simple fact. "Wha? He was hating on classic rock? Shame on him!" Dean exclaimed, grinning. He then laughed, "I'll see you soon, sweet cheeks. Hold down the fort for me while I'm gone, alright?"
"Alright, I love you to."
And with those words, he hung up. Sam gaped at him. "You have a girlfriend?" Sam asked. Dean turned to him, looking bewildered and grossed out. "God no." He shook his head. 'Ah, so it was a hooker.' Sam sighed, shaking his head. He decided not to question him further.
Dean on the other hand was quite disgusted with Sam, even if he didn't know. He was talking to his daughter, not some sleazy hooker or something! Oh well, Sam was in for a surprise when they actually got to Bobby's he supposed.
"Anyway, house rules Sammy." Dean glanced at Sam, "Driver picks the music, shot gun shakes his cake hole."
-With Bobby-
"He answered!" Liv squealed after her dad had hung up. Bobby smiled into his cup, sipping his coffee. "He did now, did he?" Bobby asked. "Mhm." Liv nodded, setting the phone on the table and climbing up into the chair across from Bobby.
Bobby smiled at the girl, blinking when the phone rang again. Turning to the phone, he picked it up and flipped it open. "B-Bobby?" The voice stuttered. "Jude?" He asked. Why would his neighbor be calling at this time. "Something's go- on." Her voice cut out. She was crying.
"Hold on, I'll be right over." He assured her before hanging up. Looking down at Liv, he took a deep breath. "Wanna come with me to see Jude? I think somethin' might be up." Bobby said. "Okay!" Liv said cheerfully, jumping up and skipping towards the door to put on her shoes.
Bobby smiled, hoping it was just a raccoon in her closet again.
