Phillip Coulson wasn't usually a man to show his feelings especially not in front of his colleagues but today was an exception.

Today his best friend.The love of his life.His soulmate , Melinda May was fighting for her life and if she wasn't successfully treated by the end of the day she would die.

Now Phil Coulson and Melinda May had been best friends for years but it wasn't until the week before that either of them had the courage to admit there undying love for each other and unknown to the rest of there colleagues they had been dating since last week.

COUlSON POV

I couldn't bear to see her like this.It was too much.My girlfriend the only woman I have ever truly loved is laying in that bed fighting for her life.

I get up and go over to Simmons

"Hello Sir How can I help?" She asks

"How is she?" I say forcing tears back.

"I'm sorry sir but it's classified"She says with a look of pity in her eyes.

That was it.I lost it.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN ITS CLASSIFIED. SHE IS MY GIRLFRIEND FOR FUCKS SAKE.HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF IT WAS FITZ" I shouted but immediately regretted it.

"I'm sorry "I apologise.

"It's ok sir I had no idea and I know what you mean I wouldn't know what I would would do If it was fitz you can go in but please try and keep quiet with the new director " She replied.

I thank her and walk in and sit in the chair next to her. It killed me knowing she was in a coma and that there was nothing I could do.

"Melinda, it's me Phil I'm here don't worry " I stroke her hand "please wake up soon"

I nod my head and look down at the floor and I finally let my tears roll down my cheeks.

"P..P.Phil"
I look up its Melinda.I feel a rush of relief fill my body as I smile and say "Melinda it's me it's Phil thank god your ok "

She smiles and says "Your a soppy idiot "

"But I'm your soppy idiot " I say.
