Paige’s POV
My best friend Zoe has been acting very peculiar the last couple of months. She has been sick a lot and stays home from school. Last night when I was over at her house, her mother was crying and it was weird for such a happy lady to cry. I tried to ask Zoe what was wrong but she never told me, she just kind of… drifted off.
Zoe’s POV
I have leukemia. I was diagnosed about three months ago, but I have no idea how to tell my best friend. Paige has been through a lot, such as her parents getting a divorce, so I have no clue how to break it to her. Last night when she was over, she saw my mother crying and I was about to tell her but I broke down. I told her my mother was just having a tough day at work.
Paige’s POV
Zoe was absent again. Everyone keeps asking about her, whether I know if she is alright or not. I even heard someone say that they heard a rumor about her having some type of cancer. I just broke when I heard that evil girl say that. I pray that nothing that big is going on with Zoe, I love her like a sister I never had. I planned on asking her what is up and demand an answer tonight. This time I hope she will actually explain something to me.
