It has ALWAYS been believed that sugar causes hyperactivity, but actually has nothing to do with becoming hyper. "Through various experiments over the years, scientists have discovered that no substantial evidence exists to support the claim that sugar causes hyperactivity." Quoted from Yale magazine. It is due to the fact that children just get extremely excited and are normally full of energy and just release it all at once. Like how you notice that the kids at a birthday party are basically bouncing off the walls from the cake they ate, when it's actually that they're just surrounded by so many friends and are extremely excited to be there that the energy just bursts out.
