In the end, I dress formally in a lavender cocktail dress and matching high heels. I tie my hair up in a complicated bun and grab my handbag. I decide that Baekhyun will dress formally too, having attended a meeting before boarding the plane.
I twirl my fingers on my stray hairs nervously as I make my way down my house. The elevator bell chimes as it arrives on the floor that I am living in.
My father will be most likely in the study room. I press the elevator button and it descends, coming to a stop at the fifth floor. I walk out, my heels clicking against the marble floor. I will tell my father first before heading out. I know that he approves of me and Baekhyun dating, and will agree to our date, but I still want to tell my father first.
The door is opened, and I walk up to it, raising my hand to knock. However, seeing that my father is on the phone, I let my hand drop.
My father is frowning and what the other person on the phone had said and his eyebrows are furrowed in concentration. His back is turned towards me.I shrug. Since he is busy, then I will not disturb him.
My heart beats furiously as I make my way to the elevator again. The smile that I had been hiding spreads across my face, and I squeal silently. I am going to see him soon!
I walk out of my house and immediately see him.
He is leaning against the side of his shiny black car, his hands tucked in his pockets. His bangs fly freely in the wind, covering one side of his face. The wind picks up, and he uses his fingers to comb through his hair, pushing the fringe backwards. He is wearing a suit, just like how I had predicted, and he had taken off the jacket and drape it over his shoulders.
He is a picture of perfection.
I stand at the doorstep for a few moments, marvelling at his beauty.
He turns towards me then. Catching sight of me, a charming smile broke across his face. I walk towards him, my pace getting faster and faster until I am close to a run. I leap into his open arms, wrapping my arms around his neck. I breathe in the familiar scent of him. He hugs me back tightly. God. I missed him so badly.
We stand there for a few moments, taking in each other's presence. I close my eyes, feeling his breaths down my back.
He pulls away gently, not letting go of my hand.
I look into his soft, brown eyes and got lost in there momentarily.
He opens the door for me and helps me get into my seat. He has never done that before. Question mark on that.
He gets into the car and looks at me with a peculiar smile playing on his lips. I tilt my head slightly, trying to figure out what is wrong. Is there something on my face?
"Nope." He says. "Still as beautiful as ever."
Damn it. Why do I always have the habit of saying my thoughts out loud?He smiles that gorgeous smile of his at me, as if knowing what I am thinking.
He nods his head to the seats behind, gesturing for me to take a look.
Curious, I turn towards the back of the car.
And I gasp.A picnic blanket is neatly folded on one seat and on the other, a picnic basket. So that's what we are doing. I stare at my lavender dress in despair. I should have dressed in jeans and a casual tank top. But on the other hand, Baekhyun is also formally dressed.
He sees my internal conflict and chuckles. His laugh is a low but melodic sound, filling me with warmth.
"C'mon, Princess, let's go."
He leads me to a rock and gestures for me to sit down, flashing me a smile. My heart speeds up. I smile back.
He sets everything up carefully on the soft grass patch, his hands working efficiently.
I watch him carefully, watching how the muscles in his arm contracts and relaxes as he moves the things. I watch as his lips press into a thin line as he concentrates. A gentle breeze messes up his hair, making him more handsome.
After a while, he gets up and comes over to me.
His eyes glint brightly in the moonlight.
He bows and held out his hand. "Miss, may I show you to our dining venue?"
I giggle. I regain my composure and plays along.
"Who, may I ask, is this gentleman? I should introduce you to Baekhyun. He has a lot to learn from you." I tease him.
He pretends to be hurt and winces.
I laugh and take his hand.
As we approach the picnic blanket, I realise that it is actually very pretty. There is lights hanging from the tree that we are sitting under and the blanket has soft cushions and candles.
A candlelight dinner.
"That's right." Baekhyun come up close behind me and laid his head on my shoulder, wrapping his arms around me.
I had spoken my thoughts aloud again. I should really get rid of this habit. I silently scold myself while my heartbeat quickens from the closeness between me and him.
He chuckles. He has heard me again.
I turn bright red.
"Shall we enjoy our dinner?" His breath stirs my hair. I nod silently, afraid that I would stutter should I open my mouth to speak.
