Beep. Beep. Beep.
My blaring alarm awakes me from my lovely dream, I don't remember it much but I think it had something to do with kittens.

I whack my hand down onto my clock to stop the annoying sound it was making, I just want to stay in my warm comfy bed forever!
"Urg" I groan as I drag my body out of bed.

Putting my slippers on then walking into my bathroom I see my reflection, and let me say it's not pretty. My green eyes look dull, and my skin red and blotchy. I scrub my face and brush my red hair hoping I can make myself look half-decent. I apply a bit of make-up then walk towards my wardrobe, hoping to find a suitable outfit to wear for the day.

I decide on a black tank top with a white sweater over the top, and blue denim jeans with my comfy brown boots. Taking one last look in the mirror I turn and exit my room, descending my Victorian styles staircase to the bottom floor. My house is pretty big with 3 floors, 5 rooms and 4 bathrooms. On the top floor is an excluded room, with a bathroom and lounge room which will be mine as soon as my brother leaves for college.

"Bye mom, bye dad!" I yell before flinging my front door open.
I hear my mother shout "Have a nice day Scarlett!" Before I shut the door and sprint to my car.
I hop in and frantically search my car for my keys, I'm going to be late!

Finding them in the glove box I start my Range Rover and reverse out of the drive way.

"Thank god! I though I was going to be late for a second." I say just before my eyes find the time.
8:15...

I'm so dead.

I speed to school, and thankfully I don't get stopped at any red lights.
I reach my school at 8:30, half an hour after first period had started, so I grab my bag and rush to the front steps of my school.
I think my school is gorgeous, it's about 100 years old and was converted from a Catholic Church, and it had not been changed or renovated in a long time. My schools name is Elizabeth Cladwell High School, it used to be an all girls school but they changed it to co-ed a couple years before I started. Thank goodness, I don't think I would've survived the bitchiness of an all girls school, it makes me cringe to even think about it.

I speed-walk to my classroom and burst into the door, I probably should have made a subtle entrance, but I didn't think about it too much. My teacher, Ms. Valencia, glares at me from the front of the class.

"May I ask why you are late, Miss Cross?" She asks me in an irritated manner.

"Um, my father had to discuss a personal matter with me." I reply.

"I will let you off this once miss Cross, but please don't let it happen again."

I do a little happy dance in my head and take my seat, I knew she wouldn't question my excuse further. Let's just say my family is very generous with their contributions to the school, so that meant I held a little power with the faculty. The headmaster would not be pleased if I complained to my parents, and they stopped being so generous.

My seat is located in the back corner, which means I can see everything that is going on, but it was harder for others to see what I'm doing. I scan the classroom and notice a few people whispering to each other and glancing at me. I make eye contact with one and stare her down, making her put her attention back on the teacher.

Weird.

I ignore it and sit silently for the rest of class until the bell goes, and I race to exit the class first. I walk into the hallway and see one of my best friends, Rosalie, frantically running towards me.

Out of breath and looking tired she pulls me towards the girls bathroom, I let her drag me there and stare at her with a confused expression.

"What the hell happened to you Rose? You look like crap." I say to her in a half-joking way.

"Why the fuck haven't you been answering my calls and texts?!" She screams at me.

I look into my handbag to realise I left it at home on the charger.

"I left it at home! Why are you yelling at me?" I say angrily.

Her expression becomes worried and slightly saddened. This is not good, Rosie only makes this face when she has really bad news.

"What is it? What happened?" I ask afraid of the answer.

"It's Jeremy, scar" she says cautiously.

"What about him?"

"He's missing"

And those two words were all it took for my entire world to come crashing down.
