"You're actually not heartless, you know" I whispered to Sanskar who glared at me.
"Now that was only left after me doing all these things"He muttered and I kissed his cheek without anyone's notice and he chuckled.
We're currently in Kolkata. The housewarming of his parents new home is after 4 days and now we're in the mall to purchase kitchen stuff.
Bade Papa and Dad stayed home while all the ladies and Laksh and Sanskar came with us. All the ladies are busy buying utensils, Sarah went out with her Chachu and we both are standing here watching the ladies especially Mom coz at any time she'll jump on the shop keeper because of the price.
"Did you tell Laksh that you has made him the manager of your Kolkata branch"
"No. I forgot. I'll tell him today."
I nodded and went near ladies to choose the utensils. I bought a beautiful glass vase for our home in Mumbai.
"Sonaaaaaaaaa" I groaned and turned to find my daughter in her father's arm. Both giggling. I marched towards her who hid her face with hands.
"Sarah. I've told you thousand times to call me Mamma" She smiled with her four teeth. That smile. God.
I pinched her cheeks and she continued to play with Sanskar's face.
Sometimes she like his beard, then his nose and then lips but then she hates everything. She is a weird kid. And has inherited everything from him.
It was already 02:15 and we didnt had lunch so we decided to go to a restaurant. And even though Sanskar has moved on from everything he didn't talk much with them.
I asked him what will you do if Sarah behaves that way and didn't had an answer. I think after my question he's the change.
Earlier I used to convey everything he had to tell mom and dad. I told him I resigned from the job, so he has started talking with them.
It was nearly 3pm so we all with great hunger went to a restaurant.
"I want biriyani" Mom said and everyone ordered what they wanted and I was dying to eat chicken biriyani. It's been a month since I had it.
"One chicken biriyani" I said and soon heard Mom's gasp. When I looked at her I found bademaa's hand on mom's hand maybe asking her to keep quiet.
That's when it hit me they don't eat Chicken. Oh God. By the time I turned to cancel my order the waiter was gone. I looked at Sanskar who was rubbing his beard in an attempt control his laugh. That idiot also eat chicken.
I prefer to give Sarah homemade food so I had already packed her meals. I took out her baby food and she was in awe seeing it. My baby.
I gave her food and slowly everyone's food came. I can't ignore mom's look. She's like she saw a ghost.
Before I took the spoon to eat I saw bademaa looking at the opposite direction with tears in her eyes.
"Maa" Laksh called her and nodded no.
Soon every one followed where bademaa was looking. The person she was looking came near us.
"Adarsh Bhai" Uttara said to me.
"I'm done" Bademaa stood up followed by Mom who was looking at Adarsh Bhai with pure anger.
Soon everyone left, just when Ragini stood up,Sarah raised her hands and called her "Ragggoooooo". Ragini took Sarah along with her baby food.
Laksh calls Ragini , 'Ragoooo' some times so he taught Sarah to call her that.
I looked at Sanskar who was smirking at Adarsh Bhai.
"Sanskar" I called him and he smiled at me.
"Shona, you haven't met this guy n.a. This is the Great Adarsh Maheshwari. Who cheated his brother to avoid the blame of his girlfriend's death, who threw his family out because he wanted everything to be his but you know what's his condition now. His wife left him to be with her boyfriend. And his company has been broken into bits. He's now running to get a deal. What a pity" Sanskar laughed and Adarsh Bhai looked down.
He was wearing a suit but his hair and dress were messed up. He looked tired.
"Wait. This is my wife. Swara. Swara Malhotra. You must have heard about Malhotra industries, she's their daughter and now I'm a successful businessman and my company is SM Tech. Do you know why I'm telling you all these because you might've thought that you broke me that day and you won but no. I won. The credit goes to you. Whenever I'll be in the verge of failure I'll think about you, it'll be like salt on wound and that will give me confidence to stand up and face the world and now here I'm. You're nothing but a piece of shit to me" Sanskar said, grabbed my hands and walk out.
Before going we asked the waiter to pack the food. When we went back, Bademaa was crying and Mom was consoling her.
"If you're feeling this much sad think about my mother who had to stay away from her son for 5 years that too for something your son did" Sanskar said and I held his hand to shut him.
Bademaa didn't said anything but Mom's silent tears spoke thousand words.
