1. Preheat oven to 350 to 375 degrees F.

2. Add the butter and sugar to a mixing bowl and cream well.

3. Add the eggs and beat until fluffy.

4. Whisk together the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.

5. Add the dry ingredients alternately with the milk.

        ~ Add more flour, if the dough is sticky. The dough should remain soft but be easy to handle.

6. Roll cookie dough out 1/4-inch thick on a well-floured pastry cloth.

7. Bake the cookies for 8 minutes on ungreased cookie sheets.
