Chapter 2 - The Plan

After I spent some time looking around, I realized I had to focus if I wanted to get out of there in time. So I took one last look at the house, as if it would be the last time I would see it. And it would be for quite a while.

The plan was to get my sports bag and put my essential items I needed to live on my own in it. I was so ready to leave and live my life with the only three people I trust. My best friends of course.

After thinking about my situation some more, I decided against it. This is only a party. I'll only be gone for a couple of hours,  sneak back in.... probably get chewed out again.. then let this whole thing blow over. Just like it always does.

So I text the gang two little things: "Plan X". That was when at least one of us weren't allowed to go out. So we would all get together and help that person sneak out. It's usually always me who calls the shots. Simple plan, hard consequences. But we were all willing to take that chance.

Before I "went to bed" that night, I changed into my black oversized pullover hoodie, sweats and converse. This was the outfit I always wore to get out the house. It wasn't noticeable in the dark, so it was perfect. I also did the old "stuff pillows under the covers illusion" to make it seem like I was there. I knew my idiotic parents would fall for it if they came to check on me. Which they didn't anyway.

So as soon as I knew the coast was clear at 9:00, I gathered my Red Strapless Sweetheart party dress that hugged my upper body nicely, and flowed out at the bottom. Then I made sure I had my Black heels that snaked up my ankles, followed by my necessary makeup. Once I got it all in my bag, I stopped to see if I could hear my parents up, and I didn't. Relieved, I grabbed my phone and my keys just in case I couldn't get back in through my window.

I had just stuck my leg through the window when I remembered to get my perfume. So as quietly as I could, I got back in, went to my dresser, and got my favorite perfume. Sticking it in my bag, I looked around my room one last time to make sure I had everything, and I didn't. With an annoyed sigh, I got my jewelry that I knew would go perfect with my outfit, and headed to my window once again. I stuck my leg out, then the other, and jumped down. This wouldn't be the first time I snuck out, but it would be the first time I went to what is supposedly "the best party of the year." So I was really nervous.

When I stood out of the bush, I sped walked to the corner of the block where I knew my friends would be. Not a light was on as far as the eye could see except for a few flickering street lights here and there. I swear it was a scene straight out of a horror movie.

I checked my phone to see the time, and saw that it was 10:35. What was taking them so long!? I mean really. They didn't live that far away!

Just then, the wind blowing from the left gently blew my pesky hair into my face. Trying to get it under control, I frantically brushed it back, just to have it pushed right back where it was. I tried a few more times. Keyword being TRIED. I let out a long self pitying sigh and turned to the left so that the wind will blow my hair back.

Standing there was simply a black silhouette. Down the long sidewalk, across the street, and a couple feet away from the curb, there stood none other than the Grim Reaper. Or so I thought. I mean come on. A girl like me should be swept off my feet by my Prince Charming into the beautiful sunset. Not thrown into the back of a van with a sack over my head in the dead of night. He or she just stood there. Too bad they were too far away for me to see who it was. I quickly pulled out my phone. Everyone knows that a creeper won't try anything if they knew their prey has contact to someone.

But what should I do? Should I pretend to call someone? That could back fire. They might think im suspicious and trying to call for help. The figure down there might decide to charge to end the "call" before it even begins. But.. its too far away. Even if I were to actually call, they would never make it in time. But who knows how fast they run. Should I pretend to have gotten a call? I guess no harm can come from that. Or should I just ignore it? I mean, sure. Its a little creepy. Ok.. A lot creepy. And yeah. No one else is around if something was to go down. But come on. I may be over reacting.
