It was only my third class of the day and I felt like I had all energy ripped out of me. Don't get me wrong, I like my classes! After three months of doing the same thing though, you get pretty tired of it.
Since I'm a senior, most people think that I don't care, but it's just the opposite.
"Juliet, I missed you!" My friend Chloe slammed into me, her five-four self wrapping me into a hug. Since I'm four inches shorter, it was kind of odd to me.
"It's been two days, Chloe." Completely failing in keeping a straight face, I smiled instead. Chloe pulled me to a chair, excitedly rambling about some new boy band that she had found.
The lights dimmed, making her frown. She huffed as our art teacher, Mr. Chase, stood up and cleared his throat. With slight annoyance, Chloe grew silent to listen to what he had to say.
"Okay, everyone. Today is a study hall, so you may do what you wish within reason. However, if you aren't finished with your wrapped animal portrait then please continue working on that. Thank you."
Making sure that he was finished, I pulled out my phone. It wasn't anything special like most kids in my class had. Some even had two IPhones, which I found completely ridiculous.
Looking over at Chloe to see her drawing, her black hair partially in her face, which didn't bother her at all. She was drawing a raven, which made me sigh. I wish I had half the artistic talent that she did.
Turning back to my phone and wiping some dirt off of the screen, I tried to ignore the noise of the classroom around me. Then I decided, why not save myself from being bored?
For a few months, I had owned an app called Chatoid. It was a social app, and you could see what people put as their bio and see if you wanted to chat with them or not. I had gone through more conversations with creeps and rude people than I liked to admit. I was going to delete it, but why not give it one more try? After all, what do I have to lose?
'Alright, Chatoid. Let's see if there are actually any more decent people left.'
