I sprinted up the two remaining stairs, and jetted at the Dreadman, who was possessing a human. The poor soul thought he was so clever, with his bottles that went bang. He only had one left, and he aimed it at me. "Don't miss!" I jinxed his throw, and it landed a foot to the side of me. At full speed, my head collided at his neck, and his head rolled into the waterfall. The man looked up when he heard the noise of the second bottle, and watched Francois' head slip through the greeting arms of the two turbines that had been ejected, now letting nothing but a gentle skim crash over the falls.
"What on bloody Earth is going on here!" The man yelled furiously. Scott was already next to him, most likely explaining what had happened. I ran down the stairs, and I met the two of them while Scott was finishing his last sentence. "So, Francois was attacked, and then possessed, and while he was possessed he tried to kill me with lit bottles of beer?" The man was taking it quite well.
"Precisely." I answered, catching my breath. The three of us walked up the stairs again, and put the turbines back underneath the waterfall. In my head, I guessed the tiny hole I'd found in the bottom of the other waterfall's pool was in fact a hole for a pipe. Water went through it as it crashed down, and it came here, where it rocketed out and powered the manor's electricity. On the high platform, we reached the door that led out, and saw a guard turn around, weapons raised. "Nelson, they're with me." The man ordered.
"Nolan, where'd you find them?" Nelson asked. Nolan, who must be the man, told him. "Actually, they found me, and now we have confirmed that some Dreadmen have reached the inside of the manor, most likely through the drainage grate on the east side of the outer wall. We need to gather as many men as we can and guard the manor, before they make their attack."
Nelson nodded, and then pointed his chin towards the door leading out of this room. The room was dark, and the moonshine was the only lght that could be seen through the high windows. A flag was visible through the dim white light. On each corner of the flag, there was a large white star. The background was red. I didn't say anything, but I was still curious about it. The four of us were at the door leading out, when Nelson peered through the keyhole. "Clear." He whispered, and we opened the opposite door. The only thing visible was a staircase on the right. I ran up it, followed by the others.
There was suddenly a large cackle, and a body fell from the ceiling. After that, I didn't stop running until I'd reached the top. There was an open door, light flashing in from the lit torches on the wall. I grabbed one, and my machete, still sheathed on my belt. Advancing slowly, I stopped when another cackle rang in my ears. A pale man; a Dreadman who was not possessing anyone, jumped out at me, a twisted knife in his hands. "Ooh, the one we've been looking for! What a pleasant surprise!" It gave a cold chill down my back when it spoke.
I didn't talk, because I know I'd say something stupid. I just jabbed him with the torch, as it pierced his shoulder. Smoke came out of the other end, and I sliced off his head while he was stunned. "Ha!" I yelled victoriously. "I win!" I raced on. About twenty Dreadmen were about collide with me.
I ducked a foot away from them, and slashed. Cries of pain were all I heard, as three of them crashed down, lifeless. Another five followed a second later. From the twelve remaining, one got up, and challenged me. Okay. I thought. The pale idiot lunged at me, and I slid out of the way, cutting off his hand. He howled in agony, and soon he too lay in the bloodbath. The eleven left charged, the wave smashing into me. Only one of the men reached me, though. I cut him in half, and the ten turned. I threw my machete at one of them, picking up a fallen Dreadman's knife.
I launched it at a possessor, killing him before he hit the ground. Scott, Nelson and Nolan came behind the last eight and slaughtered them in seconds. I retrieved my machete, and we pounded up to Alec's room. I slammed down the door, running to the bed. All I saw was a sobbing Antonee, staring at the open window. His tears shone in the moonlight. "He's gone." He managed. "She went with him."
