I woke up with a sharp pain radiating throughout my head, ready to burst open at any second. My eyes immediately shot open like two flashlight beams when I realized I wasn't in my room anymore. I looked down at the metal chair I was bound to. Wires covering my whole body, cutting into my wrists and my skin painfully.
I tried lifting myself up but I heard chains rattle underneath me and a sudden tug at my feet, pushing me back into my previous position.
I looked around in a panic, trying to find something useful but I could barely see a thing in the dark. The room I was stuck in was bare, with only an alarming amount of my blood pooling into the tread of my shoes and spreading across the cold hardwood beneath me. A single white light was dangling from the ceiling, barely illuminating the entire room.
I spent the next 5 or 10 minutes pulling on my wrists trying to see if I could free them but the excruciating pain with each of my failed attempts brought me to a halt. I wanted to scream but I couldn't. My mouth was sealed with a stronghold sellotape.
I closed my eyes once they started to water, thinking about how I got myself into this mess in the first place. Who would go out of their way in order to kidnap me and try to hurt me?
And that's when it hit me. The random guy lying in my bed and then the sound of something crashing onto my head.
I had never felt this hopeless before. Aside from my own noisy breath, there was nothing to be heard. I slumped back into the chair, unable to do anything but wait my demise at this point.
My gaze averted towards a scrawny mouse in the corner nibbling on pieces of wood, trying to feed its hunger. I envied its freedom.
After what felt like an eternity of utter silence, I heard heavy footsteps approaching me and then the familiar sound of a key turning. I held my breath. He was finally here.
