"Well, here we are." My orange eyed father smiled down at me. I tried to smile back, but I couldn't manage to stretch my face to that shape. He nudged my shoulder, and said, "Let's get testing!" He jogged into the chamber, and I followed him in.
What I saw next took my breath away. There were white panels all around us, and in the center of the room, there were two guns on a short post. Or, at least they looked like guns. There was an orange gun and a blue gun.
My dad smiled and said, "You can have the blue one." I knew that he loved orange anyway, so I grabbed the blue gun. As I pulled it off the post, I heard a voice.
"Well, welcome new test subjects. I am GLaDOS, or Genetic Life form and Disk Operating System. You and your partner are going to go through several tests together, both using these quantum tumbling devices, otherwise known as portal guns. Good luck!" My dad grabbed the other gun, and the exit door opened. He smiled at me and said,
"Well, that was easy."
I nodded, and pulled the left trigger on the portal gun. Suddenly, in front of me, a dark blue portal opened up in front of me. I pulled the right trigger, and a light blue portal replaced it. I pulled the left trigger, facing away from the other one, and again, another dark blue portal appeared in front of me. I wondered a bit, and stepped through. I appeared behind my dad, just in front of the light blue portal. I smiled. Oh, this would be fun.
