Humans

Kirstin's pov

I didn't understand how it all happened but it did. It looked just like the old world, with its differences as all of the buildings were made of brick while there was a variation of materials used depending on what species you were. Bricks belonged to the humans.

There were people walking past where we were (which was a dark alley) and they were all humans.

"I'll investigate" I said walking out of the alley.
There was a sign that read "doctors " and although I didn't know what it meant I went inside. Everyone there was human and I meant everyone. I would have expected there to be some warlocks helping these people but no... humans were helping other humans. Curious.

"Excuse me," I asked "where's the nearest warlock?"

"Must be new to the country huh?" She laughed though it wasn't a joke "if you mean doctors you can make an appointment here. I mean warlocks are known for magic and doctors are the closest thing we have to that."

I nodded and left. No warlocks? I was so confused and when I told the others almost all of them were confused. Only Carmella seemed to understand.

"Darling. This is a human only world and we have to blend in. What date is it?"

"October 31st. Why?" Nick said.

"Perfect it's Halloween so you can be yourself. Werewolves can you give yourself the wolf face and say it's a mask."

"Can do" I smiled my mouth turning to a snout. I'd learned a few tricks in the small time I'd been a werewolf.

"Perfect. Everyone else just say your dressed as exactly what species you are. I'm the only human here besides Nick."

"Ok... let's go" Ayana smiled. That's when I noticed.

"You're weapons are gone!"

"Wow... you're right Kirstin... that's odd" Francis checked his belt and pockets.

"All the better" Kevin smiled "a new start needs no violence or weapons"

"Yeah... this is a new start for all of us" Nick smiled at Asriel who had his back to Nick.

Blend in, be happy.

I wish it was that easy.
