Chapter 6

*Ethan's POV*

We pulled up to Nate's house, we picked Alex up along the way. Bee and I were sitting at the front, Grayson and Shar at the back with Alex in between them. 

"Are you serious? Why did I have to be stuck in between these two?" Alex joked, we all laughed getting out of the car. 
Alex got out and slung his arm around Bee. 
"You ready to party?" Alex looked down at Bee smiling, she looked back up to him smiled, reaching her hand up to grab his while it was still around her shoulder. 

"As ready as I'll ever be." She sighed smiling. They smiled at each other before laughing and walking towards the front door. 
I clenched my jaw. 

Just friends. We are all just friends.

As I walked around the car to the curb, Grayson unhooked his hand from Shar and pat my shoulder. 

"You ready? You okay?" Grayson asked as we watched Shar enter the house.

"No. But i will be, it's tiring holding grudges for so long." I replied.

"Promise me something?" Grayson asked. 

"Anything buddy." I replied turning my body towards him, his hand still on my shoulder. 

"If one of us needs to leave, the other comes... nothing stopping us." Grayson said. I looked at him for a minute, and read the emotions I couldn't read before. The pleading, sadness in his eyes. A look of desperation. He wasn't over it either. 

"Yeah of course!" I replied quietly placing a reassuring hand on his arm, as he put his back down.

We were silent for a little bit, until we embraced in the most brotherly way.

"Thanks E. I don't tell you this enough, but you really are the best brother." I spoke quietly.
" Love you man..." 
"Love you too." 
We patted eachothers back as we pulled away from our hug. 

We both let out a lung full of air we didn't know we were holding. 

"Now... Lets go have fun!" Grayson yelled, we laughed as we walked up and entered the house. 

Much like any party, the whole house was crowded, reeking of alcohol, teenagers dancing on each other and getting drunk and high.

Pathetic. Anger flows over me when I meet people dedicated to living this sort of lifestyle. 

I looked around searching for a familiar face, my eyes landed on Alex and Bee where the drinks were. Bee was leaning against the counter, and Alex's was facing her, his arm supporting him, planted next to her. 
They were smiling at each other talking. It felt like everything around me went silent and all i could see was them. 
Alex said something, causing Bee to laugh the hardest I've seen her laugh. She made me smile when she laughed, but the smile faded when she placed her head on his chest. 
Alex free hand grabbed Bee's lower back pulling her in, and they sat there embracing, laughing. 

I hated it. 

I continued to stare, a white noise ringing throughout my ears. 

"E! Ethan? ETHAN!" I turned my head suddenly aware that someone was calling me. 
My eyes met with both Grayson and Shar. 

"You alright?!" Shar yelled over the music. 
"I'm fine! Just stuck in thought!" I yelled back. 
"Come on, lets get a drink!" She said walking towards the table Bee and Alex were at. 

"You good?" Grayson asked, as we began following her.
"Yeah." 

I continued to stare at Bee while walking towards her, she caught my eye and smiled, standing up fully leaving Alex's presence. 

"There you two are! I couldn't see you anywhere!" She yelled to us. 
Grayson laughed and slung an arm around her shoulder. My face stayed emotionless, I felt stuck in that moment from a couple minutes ago. 
"Would you fancy a drink Bee?" Grayson ask looking down a Bee. 
"I would love one." She laughed before Grayson walked to the table to grab the beverages. 

"Hey you." She said smiling walking closer to me. We were so close she didn't have to yell anymore. 
"Hey." I said looking down at her. Her smile lightly fading.
"Everything okay E?" She said coming closer, chest to chest, looking up at me with sweet, big, brown eyes and her finger tips lightly tracing lines on my triceps. 
The anger and jealousy I had immediately melted away. 

"Yeah," I said smiling at her. "just nervous to be here i guess. "
