One shots

Halloween

      Jackal just got home from work and was hustling about, preparing for the trick or treaters that would arrive soon. He put on a quick, small costume and put a bowl by the door. Trick or treaters came and went for a few hours, until soon there were no more. Jackal looked out the window, then turned his porch light off after he saw no kids roaming the street. He went to the bathroom and took off his costume, but a knock on his door interrupted him.

"Coming!" He shouted, quickly setting his wig down and pulling off his costume.

     Jackal put on a robe and rushed to the door. He grabbed the bow of candy of candy and opened the door, greeting the kids with a smile. But when he looked, there wasn't any. His smile faded and he stepped out. There were still in children sight. He sighed angrily and stepped back inside, closing and locking the door behind him.

"Stupid teenagers," he muttered quietly.

    Jackal finished getting dressed and was sitting on the couch, watching tv for almost an hour now. It went to commercial, and he started to space out. Soon he heard whispers outside his door, and he looked over. Then they stopped. He shrugged it off and looked back at the tv. Seconds later something knocked on the window, close to the door. Jack flinched and looked over. He stood and walked to the window. He shakily looked out of it, and saw nothing. He took a deep breath and stared out the window for a minute. He then went to sit back down. He's been hearing these noises hours now, and he thought he was just beating things. He decided to go to bed.
    The next morning Jackal got ready for work. He tidied his hair and fixed his sleeve, then grabbed his wallet and keys and headed for the door. He walked out and locked the door, then turned around to walk to his car. He nearly screamed as three children stood there, all wearing creepy masked and costumes. They looked dirty and rugged, like they've been out all night. They held up bags.

"Trick or treat!" They all said, synced together with demonic voices.

Also I wanna apologize for not publishing things. I haven't been motivated much, but I do have a short story planned. I just have to transfer it onto Wattpad. I'm not sure when that'll be up.
