Family is Everything

FYI in this story Olivia is younger than she is in the show by a few years... So it's season 15 and she's only 40.

*1-6 Precinct*

Olivia was sitting at her desk. "Why'd I have to tell the Captain I was pregnant I should have waited," she thought to herself.

It was Olivia's first day on desk duty and she was already getting tired of it.

Amaro looked over at her and couldn't help but smile. Olivia had told him about how she had always wanted a child, but was never lucky enough to have one and was turned down for adoption. He remembered the time she told him about Calvin Benson.

*Last year*

Detective Nick Amaro walked into the bull pen at the precinct to see Olivia sitting with her head resting on her hands. She looked up at him startled. She stood up from the bench and went to leave but before she had the chance Nick put his hands on her shoulders to stop her.

"Liv, I can tell when something upsetting you we've been partners for two years now I can read you like a book. What's up?" Amaro stated knowing she couldn't avoid it any longer, since he had been asking her all day.

"Do you remember me telling you about being turned down for adoption?"

"Yeah," Nick said nodding his head.

"While there was this boy Calvin, I was granted legal guardianship over him when his mother abandoned him. I loved him like he was my own son. Then, his mother came and took him back," Olivia said with tears forming in her eyes.

Nick had never seen her cry before, he didn't know what to do. So he just sat her down on the bench and then sat next to her giving her a small reassuring squeeze on the shoulder.

"To...today's his bir....birthday" Olivia stumbled, that's when she broke down"

"Liv, shhh, Liv, it's okay, "Nick said giving her a hug.

"I'm sorry, I'm just whining. It doesn't matter"

"Of course it does, he was like a son to you and they took him. I would hate to lose Zara."

*Present Day*

Amaro smiled and looked back at his computer. Little did Olivia know that he had never forgotten what she had told him, or what he was planning for her.

Captain Cragen walked out of his office. Everyone looked up, thinking they'd have caught a case.

"Looks like nothing's happening, go home and get some rest. Cragen said. No one needed telling twice. Benson, Amaro, Fin, and Rollins all packed up and left.

*Bensidy Apartment*

Olivia was sitting on the couch in her favorite grey sweatpants that she used for pajamas and one of Brian's old NYPD T-shirts.

Brian walked in at 6:02 and smiled when he saw his soon to be wife. He walked over to the couch and sat to the left of her.

"Hey," he said then leaned over and kissed her. Olivia smiled and kissed him back.

"How was work?"

"Good, except I can't wait to be out of IAB"

"Me too, the sooner you're out the sooner we'll both be happy"

"What about you, now that you're on desk duty?"

"Uhhh... don't remind me. I hate it, I want to be back in the field! You know I could have waited at least another 3 days before telling him, then I wouldn't have to do paperwork all day."

"But then our beautiful baby would be getting put in danger, and I don't want that and I don't think you want that either, do you?"

"No, I guess not. I just hate paperwork"

"I know you do babe, but I don't want you in danger either I love you and this little one too much," Brian said, kissing her on the forehead while rubbing her stomach.

Olivia leaned her head on his shoulder and just smiled not believing she finally had everything she wanted... A family.

After a few moments of silence and just relaxing Olivia finally spoke, looking up at Brian. "Bri, I know I'm only three months pregnant but what about baby names? I mean I sort of want to have names picked out."

"I think we should make a list right now!"

"Really?!"

"Yeah, we'll each write down five girl names and five boy names, on a piece if paper and then decide from there, how's that sound?"

"Perfect"

"Okay, stay here I'll to get paper and pens," Brian said getting up. When he came back They both sat down and started writing their lists. After about twenty minutes they both were done.

"Do you want to share first or should I?" Olivia asked even though she already knew his response.

"You can"

"Okay, so for girls I have...." Alena, Ella, Kyra, Alexandria, and Kallie"

"Mine are, Samantha, Aria, Emma, Ellie, and Julianna. Do you want to narrow our ten down to four?"

"Yeah," Olivia said with a smile on her face. "You pick one of mine and I'll pick one of your that I don't like"

"Okay, I don't like Kallie"

"I don't like Julianna, so those two are gone. Now, pick two you like the most from the others side"

"Alena and Alexandria, you?"

"Samantha and Ellie," Olivia said still smiling.

"Okay then I think that's out top four girl names."

"Me too, now time for boy names"

"Okay" Brain said. "How about, Jacob, Payton, Kyle, Mason, or Joey?"

"I like Payton and Mason," Olivia stated.

"Me too those were my favorites now what's you boy names"

"Dylan, Taylor, Casey, August, and Ross"

"I like Dylan and Casey"

"Okay so we have the names narrowed down too. Alena, Alexandria, Samantha and Ellie for girls. And for boys, Payton, Mason, Dylan and Casey"
