I do notice I tend to switch between tenses a lot, so if you notice any times in which I do, please point it out. c:
Now onto the story~ ^^

Just before I entered the stuffy classroom, my eyes flickered up to meet his in a brief moment and his eyes twinkled with mischief. He winked, and I rolled my eyes.
"Dumbass," I muttered, though a tiny smile slid onto my face.
It was in the few minutes before classes started that I talked to him the most. It was almost as if he was scared of being seen talking to me, or anyone who wasn't part of his social group. And of course it hurt, but it was okay. At least he talked to me sometimes.
That morning it was a Monday. Monday. Mondays sucked. I found them alright though. They were better than Wednesdays at least. On Wednesdays there was double Music (only made bearable by Melody's occasional sarcastic comments).
We've just gotten into Spring, but the temperatures are getting warmer. Two degrees above the average of last year. That means most of the classrooms are a lot stuffier, especially since some of them don't have working air conditioners and the sun shone directly through the windows.
I dragged myself into the classroom, where Paula and Rebecca were trying to figure out how to turn the air conditioner on. Walking past them, I made my way towards towards Yulissa and Tay.
Yulissa's more of the quiet one, while Tay makes up for Yulissa's calmness with over-excitemnent and dramatics. They both have brown hair, though Tay's hair is more of a sandy brown, whereas Yulissa's is more of a dark brown. Where Yulissa lacks in artistic skills, she makes up for it with her athletic skills. Where Tay lacks in the athletic department, she makes up for it in the artistic department. And so forth.
The two of them are an inseparable duo. It's kind of easy to see why. They both balance the other out. And maybe that's why I feel so awkward with just the two as my only friends in this class, because I'm kind of like the awkward third wheel. (But no, they're not going out, though they often pretend to be.)
"Issy left a note." Yulissa gestured to the piece of paper on the middle of the desk. I shrugged my bag off my shoulders and picked it up. I had an idea of what she'd written though.
"Isa invaded your classroom :D ^^" it read. (Which really, was no surprise. It was her form room after all. She also uses it as an excuse to see James but she refuses to own up to that fact.)
The class all took part on mindless chatter, while most of the guys mock fought each other with rulers they'd found lying in the cupboard. Then Mr. Smith strode in. His face held the look of a man who'd given up hope on the guys.
Well, the boys would be boys. Even if they went to a selective academic school where students were viewed as the ultimate nerds by people, outside and inside the school.
"Good morning everyone." He placed his laptop on the desk while everyone slowly retreated to their seats. He moved to the front of the class, and as he did, some called out good morning back to him.
"We're finishing what we started on Friday. If you have already finished all of the exercises, please do the chapter review."
As he spoke, most of the class stood up to retrieve their books from the cabinet. Yulissa stood up with them.
He sat down at his desk and pulled out his laptop.
I grinned. "Thanks Lissa."
"Truth or dare, Lester?" Tay poked me.
