can we just imagine insecure, suicidal, eighth year harry who self harms in the first floor bathrooms and draco who protects him and encourages him and slips him notes every morning with inspirational messages and makes him blueberry pancakes where the blueberries make smiley faces and is totally ok with the fact that harry is asexual 

and then harry has a particularly bad night after ron and hermione are complete assholes and self harms so much he blacks out from blood loss. and draco takes him straight to the room of requirements and heals him and all day next day takes care of him and they skip all their classes but its ok bc breakfast in bed.

and then obv it would have to have some sad ending like twist and shout but maybe it would be a tfios style plot twist and after harry recovers draco dies bc lucius is and asshole.

and obv draco would be harry's only friend cus it makes it sadder

and it would be super angsty

and to make a character death sadder you:

give them strong ties to other characters // leave them with an uncomplete life and kill them when they have lots of unacheived goals
