Prompt: I guess he got the umbrella with the slippery handle.
The wave rolls up to just below my feet. I feel the burning of my shoe as a drop hits me. The umbrella carries me over the ocean to my destination. As another wave crashes and sends water up, I pull my feet up to me and wait for it to pass.
Lorden's science corporation had a leak from it's experiments and it has ruined the ocean. Nothing can touch the salt water without being destroyed.
I look over at the others with me and watch as a thirty-something year-old man fumble with his handle. His pants are in the process of disintegrating. As another wave rolls up, one of his hands loses its grip. It falls to his side and gets a few drops of water on it. He screams as the pain hits him. He grips the umbrella with his other hand and it starts slipping. With one last ear-splitting scream, he loses hold of the umbrella. He drops into the ocean where he is lost forever.
I guess he got the umbrella with the slippery handle.
His umbrella floats along with us until we reach our destination about ten minutes later. It drops down with a thud as my feet hit the ground. I see a young woman with two children waiting for their family member to return. My eyes fill with tears as a security guard approaches them. They crumple to the ground when they hear the news. I am escorted out of the area and into a cab where I am to attend my mother's funeral. She died just like that man.
