My eyes snapped open to the bright fluorescent lights dangling loosely above my head. I took a deep breath, and heard a raspy wheeze from the machine I was connected to. I turned my head slowly, every muscle in my body screaming in pain at this slight movement. An IV dripping a blue liquid was connected somewhere on my body, only giving me more motivation to get out.
Everything in my head was fuzzy. I couldn't remeber anything other than my own name. Jordan. Was that my name? Or was it Pearl. Or maybe Amelia. No, my name is definitely Jordan. Then who are the others? Twelve other names circling around in my head.
A man in all white came into my view, however limited. He looked me up and down, then his eyes drifted to the IV. He tore it off of the metal pole, then without looking at me, moved to a part of the room I couldn't see.
"Okay sweetheart, go ahead and get up. My name is Diego, I won't hurt you."
Diego? One of the names in my head. Maybe I was in a hospital.
"Jordan, I know you heard me. Get up sweetie. I won't hurt you, but there is someone who might if you don't listen to me."
I turned my head to look at him. His features were soft, with light brown eyes and long messy hair. He did have big hands though, not something I would picture on a doctor.
I swung my feet over the side of the bed I was laying on, ignoring the pain that shot through my body when I did so.
"What do you mean?" I asked, realizing quickly that I should talk as little as possible, my throat dry and swollen. My voice was low for a girl, but I suppose it doesn't matter much.
"Let's go, here, take this and inject it into your left forearm." he handed me a syringe full of a bright red liquid.
"What is it?"
"Pain killer." he was starting to sound irritated, so I did as he instructed, feeling the results immediately. The numbing sensation of my entire body.
I followed him out of the door into a narrow, sleak hallway. The walls were iron, with blood splattered in various spots. A clanging rang through the hall, making my blood freeze.
"Run!" Diego shouted, and I did. Even as I felt Him breathing down my neck, I ran.
