Okay, Rose. Focus. Focus. You can do this. Am I sweating?! Shit! He's only a man. What am I so worried about? Maybe the fact he could crush my entire career with one word.
These thoughts ran through my head as I sat there in that waiting room, about to meet the man who held my future in his hands. Harry Styles. What would he think of me? Am I really good enough? What if he says I'm not ready? What is he's an ass? I was so wrapped up in my own brain that I didn't see the woman standing in front of me."Miss Steele?" I quickly, and very awkwardly, I might add, stood up. "Yes, yeah, that's me." I laughed nervously. The well dressed blonde smiled sweetly and held out her hand. "Hello, Miss Steele, I'm Kelly, Mr. Styles personal assistant." I wiped my sweaty hand on my skirt before taking hers and shaking it. "Oh, hi." I said. "Mr. Styles is running a bit late, I'm afraid. He has told me to inform you that he will be here shortly."
I just nodded quickly and sat down again. I was shaking so much, I couldn't stand on my feet one more second. Kelly walked away so confidently. Wow. How did she do it? Being so confident in a building such as this, working for such an extravagant guy as Harry Styles? I couldn't do it. A few minutes of intense prayer and fidgeting went by before I calmed down just a little. I took out my journal and tried to write down how I was feeling, just to pass the time.
"So, I don't know what I'm even doing here. I mean, I should just leave. This is so crazy. The feelings I have right now are so intense, I don't know how I'm going to deal with this. I just think I sho"
"Miss Steele?" It was Kelly who took my mind from my journal. "Yes?" I asked, swiping my bangs behind my ear. "Mr. Styles will see you now." Oh, God. "Umm, t-thank you, Kelly." I got my bags and my guitar together and followed her to this humongous office. All the walls were made glass, and there was very modern furniture inside. Kelly opened the door and held it open for me. I thanked her. She smiled and closed the door behind me. I took a deep breath and took in my surroundings. There were probably seven electric guitars lined up against the wall, and in front of me was a glass desk with a black leather chair behind it facing the window which showed the City of Angels.
"Wow." I whispered, taking in the view. Suddenly, the chair turned, revealing the one and only Harry Styles. He smiled and stood up holding out his hand. "Hello, I'm Harry Styles. You must be the talented Rose Steele I've heard so much about." I cautiously took his hand and looked up at his face.Oh. My. God. Was he even real? I'd seen pictures, but they didn't do him any justice. He was... gorgeous. No, no, no. Perfect. That's when I realized I was staring, and he noticed too. I could tell by the smirk that was plastered on his angelic face. I pulled away quickly, looking down. He sat down casually, and began speaking. His voice matched his beauty in every way. "So let's get down to business. You want to be signed to my label. Is that right?" I snapped out of my trance. "Uh, yes. Yes, sir." He nodded. "Well, I've listened to your demo, and I must say, with a little work, you could be a really great recording artist." I blinked a couple times to make sure I'd just heard that correctly. "R-Really?" He smiled. "Yes, Rose. I believe you could be, but like I said. You need a little work." "Right, okay, yeah. I can work." I said nervously.
He laughed. "I'm sure you can. I'd like to set up a time where we can meet again. Maybe in the studio. What do you say?" My jaw dropped. "Are you serious?!" I practically yelled. He just nodded. "Yes, I'm serious, Rose. Welcome to the family!" He got up and came to my side. He held out his hand for me, which I took gratefully. The moment my hand touched his, sparks were flying in every inch of my body.
He helped me up on my feet and led me to the door, which he opened for me. I stepped though and walked to the elevator, still on a high from both the fact that I was now going to begin my career, and that Mr. Styles had touched me. As I pressed the button to enter the elevator, I felt a presence behind me, so I turned to find Harry Styles inches away from me. Lord, help. He stepped back, giving me my space. He just smirked. "It was a pleasure meeting you. I'll contact you soon, okay?" I nodded excitedly and went into the open elevator. "Thank you so much, Mr. Styles." I said, as the door began to close, but it didn't close. Mr. Styles had stopped it. He now had one foot inside the elevator, and he was looking at me.
"Is everything okay?" I said curiously. "Yes, but my name is Harry, and I'd like you to call me that." "Oh. Okay, um, Harry." He backed away from the door which was once again closing, but before it closed all the way, he said my name one last time. "Rose." He nodded, and with that he was gone.
