JOYCE POV

Hello my angels! My name is Joyce Hawkins and I am the mother of the one and only Chris Brown! Things haven't always been a walk in the park for him, but he's always been a good boy. Now, I'll be honest. I did NOT care for Sabti at all when Chris first told me about her. I felt like she was a lonely woman trying to relive her youth by having sex with my son! I put my feelings about her aside when I found out she was carrying my granddaughters. No matter how nice I tried to be to her, she never seemed to trust me. I was very devastated when I found out she died. No matter what, nobody deserves to lose their lives so tragically the way Sabti did. I'm going to invite Wanda, Sabti's mother over for a nice brunch in the hopes that we can provide a functional family unit for our grand babies.

Me: How you feeling, boo?

Chris: Nervous. Ma....

Me: Hmmm?

Chris: I hope nobody has to be hauled off in handcuffs. Please, please, PLUH-EASE!!!

Me: That woman starts with me, it's going down.

The doorbell rang and I answered revealing Wanda, Sabti's mother and Sabti's two siblings: Topaz and Zircon. To my surprise, there were no court papers or anything of legal value on their person.

Chris: Hey everyone, c'mon in.

CHRIS POV

I'm glad that my Mama and I planned this little dinner for Sabti's immediate family. Even though Wanda can't stand me or my Mama, we need to establish some kind of relationship for sake of Taillow and Kakuna.

Topaz and Zircon smiled, whilst Wanda exhaled and walked in. Hello to you too, bitch.

We sat down to a southern dinner which consisted of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, greens, macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes, and everything under the sun! The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife!

Topaz: So nice that we could get together and be civil. Sabti would've loved this!

Me: I agree.

Joyce: I'm sorry I couldn't make it to her funeral, I---

Wanda: It was a lovely service.

Joyce: Chris told me that so many people were there and---

Wanda: Yes, Bobby Brown finally paid her that $200.00 he owed her. Slipped it in the casket like we wouldn't notice.

Joyce: It sounds like a nice homegoing for her, she was---

Wanda: Surrounded by people who cared about her even after death. Made sense that you wouldn't show.

Joyce: Look here, I--

Me: Look Wanda, I don't need you to be throwing jabs at my Mama. She couldn't make it because she was sick. My Mama didn't care for Sabti just like you don't care for me. Don't sit up here acting bitter because I have full custody of my daughters and you only have to deal with visits. We wanted you here because we need to have some sort of common ground, so get all that petty shit out of ya system, shut up, and enjoy dinner like your children clearly are.

Zircon: Oh Chris, you didn't have to say---

Me: SHE TOOK IT THERE!

Wanda: I don't know why we have to go through this. When Sabti was alive, you HATED HER GUTS!!!

Joyce: She never gave me the chance to know her!

Topaz: I agree with Chris, Ma. We owe them.

I was distracted from knocks on the door. Good, it's the other piece of this puzzle.

I opened the door to reveal....

Topaz: Daddy!?!?

Joyce: Sabti's father!? How did you find him!?

Sage Zuniga is Sabti's father. When we were together, Sabti often told me that her father was emotionally abusive and told Sabti that she would amount to anything, that she was a failure and he knew so from the moment he held her in his arms. Now that his daughter is, or was a famous artist and visionary he wants to make amends and get to know his granddaughters.

Wanda (salty): Sage....

Sage: Wanda.

Wanda: I don't know why the hell you're even here! It's not like Sabti left you anything in the will.

Sage: Look.....I didn't come here to fight, nor for any money. I came because I can't shake the feeling that something is happening with Sabti.....
