The hurting

It was December 10th, in the Broflovski's home, the cold outside unbearable. Kyle was hanging out in his room, listening to some hanukkah music, to get back into the spirit of things, smiling wide as he heard a knock on his window. Of course it was. It was him. The only one, Kenneth McCormick. Pulling off a grin on his window, trying to not fall off on the cold snow. He knocked a couple more times on the glass, waiting for the redhead to open it, mumbling some words out there. "H-hey! It's cold out here!". Kyle chuckled as he grabbed the window, and pulled it up, feeling the mid-December breeze, looking at Kenneth who was just wearing his normal clothes. A raggy hoodie with some wrecked up Vans, (he was still surprised how he managed to buy them) and an old tank top, with some black, dirty tights. "What do you want, Ken?" The jew asked, grabbing his cold hand, covered in his fingerless gloves, pulling him inside. "Nothing." He said whilst looking around, making sure that the redhead didn't suspect. It was kind of worrying to the jew how Kenny was always coming to his house, never with an explanation. The blonde didn't really tell anybody of what happened in his house. 'What happens in the McCormick's, stays in the McCormick's'. That was the only thing he said. He always seemed to smile, even when the other three, Eric, Stan and Kyle himself knew something was wrong. They always knew he was broken, because he was! It wasn't some kind of lie that they were seeing, was it? Kenny was always sad under that un breakable smile, under the stupid little jokes he'd always say. That wasn't what worried Kyle, though. What was worrying is that, everytime they passed him some kind of portion of their meals, he'd eat them desperately, and wouldn't leave a trace of it, like it was never there. That wasn't the worst though, it was basically just the start. Kyle had spotted Kenny countless times in Eric's house, stealing food from him, almost every single week, there wasn't a day he didn't pass by that Kenny wasn't in the cartman's kitchen. It was saddening, REAL saddening. "Well, then why're you here?" He'd ask as the blonde sat on his beanbag. "I just wanted to visit you.... for reasons." Kenny answered. There was a couple minutes of silence before Broflovski decided to turn his flatscreen TV on his wall on, watching a basketball game, Kenny's favourite! He leaned in, big blue eyes focused on the screen, jumping and yelping every time there was a close shot, or just yelled 'yeah!' Each time they dunked on the basket. Kenny looked at the TV,smiling as he payed close attention to the game, for once forgetting why he was around the ginger so much. "Hey, kenny! How about we play a game!" He said, hitting the mute button on the controller of the television. "Let's say what things we hide from each other!" Kyle didn't know, but he had just made the worst mistake of his life.
