The note

I unfolded the note. It read:

"Carly, it has become pretty obvious to the both of us that we belong together. There is nothing more in this world that I would want then to be with you. Truth is, I've been watching you a long while, even before we met. I had a soft spot for you and I was just waiting for you to slip up so I could take you as my own. But, of course, I can't force you to do anything. So, I'm asking you this with the most open of heart. Carly, will you marry me? Will you be my one and only? My forever? Please take note that if you say yes, you agree that you will never again be able to return to your family and you will never again return to the real world. But, also, if you say yes, I promise to keep you safe from the evil that lies around here. It's dangerous here and I don't want to see you hurt. Also, I will treat you the way a queen ought to be treated. I've been waiting for you a while and, I will ask once more: Carly, will you be my corpse bride?
-Sans"

Love as a contract? It just makes me cringe to think I will never again be able to go see my family or return to the real world. But, I am sentenced here for a long while for what I've done. I feel like my family will just forget about me after a few months. I'm sure everything will be back to normal for them after a while. But what if it doesn't? Oh, I really do love Sans, but my family was always there for me when I was growing up. If I say yes, this is going to create a whole new chapter in my life. A chance to start over and forget my wrongs. And better yet, I get to start over with someone I like extremely.

I just sat down for hours comprehending what I read in the note. I've made my decision and I'm sticking with it. Surely enough, a while later, Sans walked in. He didn't say a word to me. He just sat next to me and stared at the floor. We sat in complete silence for a while. I admired his glowing eye. Finally, he looked up and turned his head to me, "So, did you read the note yet?" He asked. I nodded. I'm a bit nervous. "So, what do you say?" He asked.

I looked at the floor, then back to him, "Sans, I personally think that I would be better off here with you. I'm sentenced to stay here for 5 years, and I'd much rather just start over completely with you." He just gazed at me in amazement. "C-Carly.." he stuttered, "You're the first woman who didn't reject me on the spot!" He threw his arms around me, melting into a firm hug.

We hugged for a while, it was the most amazing feeling in the world. I'm going to marry the man who practically saved my life! Why me though? Of so many others?

He broke the hug and kissed me, "I need to tell my brother about this though," he said. "Tell me what?" His brother said, standing in the doorway. "Papyrus!" he yelped, "How long have you been standing there bro?" "Long enough to know that there's something you apparently need to tell me. Now come on, spill the beans," he responded calmly. "Well, uh, Papyrus, this is my bride-to-be. Her name is Carly-" Papyrus cut him off, "A human? Are you insane Sans?!" "Perhaps," Sans responded, "But then again, that's none of your business. So please, just know she's not a dangerous one that we need to kill or anything." Papyrus shot me a dirty look. I hid my face in Sans' shoulder. "Fine!" Papyrus said sternly, "But the first time she poses a threat, she's history! Got it?" He said angrily. Sans nodded his head. Papyrus growled and left the room.

"I'm so sorry about that. I forgot to close the door," Sans said. "Oh no, it's fine. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes." We both giggled and Sans stood up. He reached his hand out to me, "Let me show you around!" He said eagerly. I grabbed his hand and we were off. I looked around. The walls and ceiling were completely grey with a black trim and there was a wide staircase leading to the upstairs.

Eager myself, I ran up the stairs and ran into each room eagerly. I came upon one room filled with empty ketchup bottles and was just a complete mess. "This is my room!" Sans said. I jumped, because I didn't expect him to be standing behind me, "What a mess! Do you ever clean up around here?" "Nope, I might break a bone," he giggled. Puns. Puns. Puns. Him and his silly puns! I giggled with him, "Will you ever stop with the puns?" I asked playfully. "What a 'humerous' question. Never!" He reponded as we both busted out laughing. "So it's pretty obvious that you have a thing for ketchup," I said. He nodded and smiled at me.

So, a puny skeleton who loves ketchup. I think I can deal with this. He's beyond my type. He's perfect.
