RYDEL'S POV:
I was rudely awakened by the boys with their obnoxious screaming at the tv. Welp, turns out Ell got the days mixed up and today was the day off. He's so stupid sometimes, I swear. Oh well.
I rubbed my eyes and slid out of my bunk. I redid my hair, putting it in a somewhat neat high ponytail. I trudged over to the boys, giving them a weak wave.
"Morning Sunshine!" Ell laughed. I just rolled my eyes.
"Whatever," I replied, my voice was a little raspy from just waking up. So, I walked into the small kitchen and got a water bottle out of the mini fridge. I drank like half the bottle, oops. I cleared my throat and whatever "rasp" was left was gone. I walked back to the boys.
"What do you guys wanna do today?" I asked them.
They all shrugged, "there's the beach." Rocky said plainly.
"Oh yeah! We could rent some surfboards and surf on the east coast for once!" Ross added, it was obvious he was excited. It may've been winter time but Florida was like 80 degrees! Doesn't surprise me though, Cali is the same. I loved it.
"Alright, go get ready," I told them, and they raced to their suitcase and lined up at the door of the bathroom. I took this to my advantage and sealed up the bunks by pressing the nifty button that allowed me to do so. I quickly got changed, putting on a blue bathing suit top that looked like a bandeau and a pair of white bottoms. Overtop I just put on a white sundress that was purple at the bottom.
The boys took about 20 minutes to finish, which isn't long for 5 boys. Dad took the van and drove us to the nearest beach that has concession stands and other little shops. Beaches were my favorite. I smiled to myself. We got out of the car and walked down the sidewalk. Rocky and Riker were talking about the Broncos game, Ross and Ryland were talking about music, since Ryland starting DJing, and Ellington, well he.. actually I don't know. I turned around and he screamed, "BOO." Which I swear, made me jump like 10 feet in the air. He just chuckled.
"Loser," I mumbled.
"What was that?" Ell said, coming closer.
"I saidddd, you. are. a. loserrrrr!" I joked, scrunching my nose and sticking out my tongue.
"Ah-huh" he said, and pretended to ignore me.
"You love me," I stuck out my tongue.
"Maybeee," Ell cooed, slinging his arm around my neck and letting his arm rest on my shoulders while his hand dangled freely right below my shoulder.
"Aw look at the love birdsss!" Rocky said, nearly screaming.
"Shut up Rocky. Dad, where the heck is the surf shop?" I asked.
"That is a very good question," my dad replied, whipping out his phone and asking "siri" where the nearest surf shop was.
"It's just down this street kids," my dad told us, leading us to the left.
Ell's hand kept hitting me on my shoulder so I grabbed his hand to move it, but he had other plans. Instead, he intertwined our fingers. I looked at him in confusion, he just smiled. The weird part is, I think I like it. I squeezed his hand a little and he chuckled.
"Behold," My dad laughed, pointing to the surf shop.
"I-I-It's gorgeous," Ross said, stuttering so it'd be more dramatic.
"Woah," Rocky added in awe.
"Sweeeeet," Riker chimed in.
"We could be inside of it if you guys would stop staring at it like it's some hot girl that you like," I spat sarcastically.
"The lady has got a point," Ell laughed.
In we went, and it was even more beautiful inside. The outside looked like a tiki store, it had coconuts for decoration and surfboards leaning against the big glass window. There was unlit tiki torches at the entrance and even some leis. Fake sand was scattered in one corner, and there was a chair and cooler on the sand. It looked just like Hawaii.
Ross went up to the front desk and asked if they rented, which they replied to saying yes. We all went out separate ways. I looked around, scanning every board, looking for a cute one. "Ah-hah!" I whispered to myself.
"Found something you like?" A brunette with bright green eyes chuckled.
"Uh, yeah haha, sorry if that was a little weird.." I said, laughing slightly. Boy he was cute.
"I'm Josh," he said extending his hand.
"Rydel," I smiled, taking his hand and shaking it.
"You goin' to the beach down the street?" Josh asked.
"Yeah, with my brothers, my dad, annd my friend Ellington," I smiled.
"Can I, maybe, walk with you?" Josh asked, he looked sooo cute.
"Only if you help me get this board down," I teased, pointing to a white board that had two brown stripes going down the middle, and at the very end it had a beautiful flower on it.
"Deal," he smiled, taking the board down and carrying it to my family for me.
"Hey guys, this is Josh," I smiled, and introduced my brothers, dad, and Ell to Josh.
They went down the line and introduced them selves. Then when it was Ell's turn he wasn't paying attention but soon realized it was his turn and introduced himself. I smiled at my newfound friend.
My dad paid for the surfboard rental and we all walked down to the beach. Josh and I talked about ourselves, I learned that he's an only child, he lives in Nevada but he's in Florida for Winter break, he's 20, annnnd he decided to add in that he likes blondes. What a tease. I also noticed that Ell kept glancing over at us, looking annoyed.
"Is your family already at the beach?" I asked Josh.
"Yupp," he replied, taking my hand in his. I looked down and smiled.
"Rydel's got a boyfriend, Rydel's got a boyfriend!" Rocky yelled.
"We're just friends Rocky, I just met him," I giggled.
We finally arrived at the beach and the hot sand against my feet made me instantly think of Cali. I took in my surroundings and took a deep breath as we roamed around, looking for a spot to put our stuff. Finally, we found one next to a couple who had a baby who was about one or two. On the other side of us was an older couple who were taking some sun, although they were already pretty tan. I stuck my board in the sand and walked over to the couple with the baby.
"Can I say hi?" I asked, referring to the baby. They nodded their head and smiled. I kneeled down in front of the stroller and talked to the baby for a bit. We even played peek-a-boo. Baby's giggles are so cuteeee. All the while, Ell was looking at me, smiling. I couldn't help but smile too.
"Thanks guys, she's adorable," I smiled, and waved. They thanked me and waved also.
The boys, minus Ell, were in the water surfing. Looks like they're getting along with Josh.
"Hey Ell," I said, walking up to him and wrapping my arm around his torso.
"Heyooo, wanna go on a quick walk?" He asked, putting his arm around my shoulders.
"Yeah sure," I smiled.
We started walking down the shore, it was quiet. A nice quiet though.
"So um.. I kinda wanted to talk about you and Josh.." Ell trailed off.

heyy guys!! so I know I haven't updated in forever but I'm going to try and update more. I'm also going to start another fanfic about one of the magcon boys, not sure which one yet though. Hope you enjoyed this chapter and I hope it isn't too lengthy and boring. 😜
