Dakota's POV
"Do I have to go?" I asked my older brother William Turner as looked at the dress I had just put on. I hated wearing dresses and corsets, even though I only have corsets loss to show off my figure. I would rather go without and wear my boy clothes I took from Will.
"Yes, you do Dakota besides Elizabeth will be there to keep you company" Will told me as I walked out from behind the screen. "Now I must my leave and give this to Governor Swann" he told me carrying a long black box. Which I knew contended the sword he had made for the new promoted Commodore today.
"Fine, let's go then" I stated leading the way out of the blacksmiths shop. When we got to the the Governor's house Will spoke to Governor Swann. I waited for Elizabeth while listening to the conversation. Governor Swann complimented the sword and told Will to pass it on to Mister Brown the blacksmith. Who had taken care of Will and I since we were brought to Port Royal by the Governor and his daughter Elizabeth. She became my best friend, but we lost the necklace our father sent us from his travels. At least we still had the sword which was in the long bag attached to my back the day we were found.
"Will, Dakota so good to see you I head a dream about you both last night" Elizabeth said as she descended the stairs looking beautiful as ever. "About the day we met do you remember?" she asked.
"How could I could forget Miss Swann?" Will asked as I said 'yes I do'.
"Will how many times do I have to ask you to call me Elizabeth? Dakota does" she asks Will.
"At least once more Miss Swann" Will told her. I rolled my eyes as Governor Swann stepped forward.
"There see, now we must be on our way you two" he told us and headed towards the door. I followed after wishing Will a good day.
"Good day Mr Turner" Elizabeth said following her father and I.
"Good day ... Elizabeth" I heard my brother say behind and gave him a smirk climbing into the carriage behind Elizabeth. I sat beside her across from her father silent as we made our journey. When we arrived the driver helped Elizabeth and I out of the carriage. While Elizabeth fanned herself during the ceremony I watched the new Commodore test his knew swords balance looking pleased with it.
Once it was over I informed Elizabeth's father I would walk back to the blacksmiths shop. He agreed reluctantly saying he would inform Elizabeth of my departure. As she had been whisked away by the new Commodore Norrington. Not doubt he was proposing as I walked along the deck. He always fancied her as does Will who would be crushed hearing of the proposal. Someone also fancied me although I hated him with a passion.
I noticed someone fall into the water and went to see who it was as a boom went through the water. I saw someone dive off a ship after the person who fell in. As two navy man ran onto the deck to stand by me. I watched as a man dragged an unconscious girl on his back to the deck.
That is when I released it was Elizabeth as the two soldiers pulled her onto the deck. "Not breathing" one said moving her wet hair to one side.
"Move" the man who save her demanded and took out a knife. He then cut the strings of her corset. Which I released was tied way to tight, no wander she passed out I thought as she coughed once it was removed. I then noticed the necklace she wore along with the man who asked where she got it.
"On your feet" a voice said behind the man a sword pointed to his back along with guns and other swords. The man slowly raised to his feet as the Governor helped Elizabeth stand. When he noticed one of the soldiers holding her now ruined corset his gaze harden. Until the soldier dropped it and pointed to the man.
"Shoot him" Governor Swann ordered the guards and Norrington.
But Elizabeth and I protested saying "no, Commodore to you really intend to shoot her/my rescuer?" Norrington sheathed his sword and held his hand out to the man. Offering a thanks for saving Elizabeth only to grab his arm and lift his sleeve revealing a 'P' shaped scar.
"Had a run in was the East India Trading Company did we pirate?" he asked the man. He then told one of his men to fetch some irons. Before he looked at the sparrow tattoo above the scar. "Well, well Jack Sparrow isn't it?" he asks letting go of his arm.
"Captain Jack Sparrow" the man stated as Norrington looked his effects. Commenting on each one; how the gun only had one shot, compass that didn't point north and how he half expected the sword to be made of wood.
"You are without a doubt the worst pirate I ever heard of" Norrington stated sheathing Jack's sword again.
"But you have heard of me" Jack said as the man returned and started to put the irons on him. But as soon as he finished Jack wrapped the chain around Elizabeth's neck as she tried to defend him. Norrington gave Elizabeth Jack's effect and she placed them on him as he flirted mildly.
"You're despicable" Elizabeth told him as she finished.
"Sticks and stones luv, I save your life you save mine, we even savvy" he told her making her face us pistol to her temple. "Gentlemen, my ladies this is the day you will always remember as the day you almost caught Captain Jack Sparrow" he stated thrusting Elizabeth into the mens arms. Before grabbing a rope and kicking a latch that sent him flying into the air.
"Now will you shoot him?" the Governor asked as he held Elizabeth. Norrington gave the order to open fire and his men did so. As they went to pursue Jack, Governor Swann took Elizabeth and I back to their house by carriage.
