Erica stared dazed and bewildered at the strange man, she watched as he wagged his fingers at her aggressively and accusing but she took nothing in. Still taken aback by the initial surprise she began to think to herself: what had just happened? She was just plunging to her death, only 50 feet left till she would finally escape her torment and then she was in a... swimming pool? That was surely not possible, right?
This man who was he? How was it that she didn't even know whom he was yet she felt safe just to simply be in his prescience? Although he was not the type to be menacing Erica peered up at the lanky stranger shaking gently. Erica could feel the panic setting in, this was all too much to cope with all in one night. The death of her dream to die a quiet and easy death, the strange room she was in, the strange man screaming at her and flailing his arms. He looked like a mad man, for all she knew she could have been kidnapped by the strange individual and this was all part of his elaborate plan to attack her and take advantage of the innocent lost girl.
She began to shake, her knees hitting together slightly the tears beginning to roll down her cheeks. Out of fear of showing her fright she began to hide her red watery cheeks behind her long locks of hair. For a second she thought she saw realization before fear begin to appear on the man's face, then a look of shame and regret before finally deciding on an expression of disappointment. Was the stranger disappointed in her? Why? Could she make it up to them?
What did she care? He was a complete stranger who had pretty much kidnapped her and would most likely make her regret even thinking of apologizing for trying to kill herself.
The man finally let out a sigh, he began to rub his eyes for a second before mumbling a slight apology under his breath, "I'm sorry... I just don't like it when people I care about make idiotic decisions-"
Erica cut him off, yelling angrily, "Idiotic!? I AM NOT AN IDIOT. If anything I am highly intelligent and expect to be treated as such!" She huffed taking a deep breath, "You don't know me anyway, so I doubt you would care about me," that's because nobody does she thought.
She could see the anger begin to rise, his face beginning to redden and his teeth beginning to grind. The anger didn't suit such an attractive man: the heir of sophistication and intelligence that surrounded him.
The seconds felt like minutes as the air grew thick, Erica knew this was a man that was not to be messed with. He finally blew, "YOU YOUNG LADY ARE TOO INSECURE FOR YOUR OWN GOOD!" Then something strange happened... he calmed down.
She looked up at the strange man, his disappointed expression had re appeared and he pinched his nose between his fore fingers. "Look, I apoligized okay? Give me that one will you? I always let you win these things for once let me win?"
"We've never even talked before. How could we have argued?" it took a few seconds to set in before she realized, "You wouldn't have had to let me win anyway. I would have won all on my own."
"All on your own... right" A smirk spread across the strangers face.
"Yes! I am more intelligent than you think you know!"
"Really? Then why haven't you even asked my name yet? Or commented on the size of my accommodation?"
That quietened Erica, she realized he was right. She should have noticed that she didn't actually know anything about her kidnapper except the fact he was a strange and annoying man. She looked around the large room, she couldn't help herself once the size was mentioned, it was huge! The room suddenly expanded before her eyes, the silver moving mechanisms twirling around above her head slowly.
She began to notice the intricate pattern that certain buttons on the driving mechanisms, the strange noise coming from the long tube in the middle of the room, the peculiar outfit the strange man was wearing paired with his silky black hair. The cute dimples that had appeared on his cheeks once he smirked paired with his long lanky physique.
She suddenly snapped out of it, "I already have! I just didn't think it be polite to ask my kidnapper of..."
He snorted and laughed, "Kidnapper? Please if anything you're the one who's kidnapped me."
"What?" She asked the confusion obvious to the naked eye before she composed herself, Erica always hated it when she was found out to be stumped at all on any matter.
The strange man stopped her before she could ask any questions and grabbed Erica by her waist assuming the tango stance with her, her hand falling on his shoulder and her other hand being held by his. With every word he proceeded to do a tango step with the unsuspecting girl, "To answer your questions I am The Doctor, I am not your kidnapper and you young lady are about to have a lot of fun! So don't die on me yet."
If only The Doctor and Erica knew what they were getting into...
