Undeserving

Prequel

   The wind was blowing through the bare branches of the trees. It was a regular autumn afternoon. All of the soon-to-be-graduates lined up behind large wooden doors that would lead to their futures. Excitement was buzzing through the air, all of the students and teachers were jumpy and nervous and Taylor Swift was no different.
     She had styled her long golden hair into thick, bouncy curls. Her dress was red, her favorite color, and was sparkling under the light coming from the high windows. Ahead in the crowd of students she could see her boyfriend Harry. At that same moment he looked back at her and they both shared a knowing grin.
      Finally after an hour of waiting, they could hear the proud fathers and emotional mothers shuffling into the arena. After another hour of waiting Taylor heard the music start playing and nearly jumped two feet into the air. "This is it" she thought.
      The big wooden doors were shoved open by their professor and they started marching down the long aisles. Taylor felt as if she were losing her balance on her sleek black pumps. A few professors and alumni gave speeches, but it was all a blur for Taylor.
       "Harry Styles" they called. She could see her beloved walking up to the podium. He shook the dean's hand and took his certificate and moved on. When he was going around the stage he went to his seat. The chair next to him was empty except for a paper with the name "Taylor Swift" printed on it in thick black letters.
      Finally they called her name and she walked up to the shiny mahagony podium. She felt as if she were going to burst at that moment. She walked up the steps and took her black leather-clad diploma that would mean the entrance key into a world of new jobs.
       She walked back to her seat and sat down next to her significant other. "How was it?" Harry asked while grabbing her hand. "It was amazing I'm still shaking" Taylor stated as she enjoyed his company.
